Resident Municipal Planning Commission Member Applications
Closing Date: March 9, 2018 at 4 p.m.
Wheatland County is seeking three resident members to join the Wheatland
County Municipal Planning Commission (MPC). As per Bylaw #: 2017-63,
Wheatland County has changed the structure of its Municipal Planning Commission
to consist of two Councillors and three resident members. The Commission’s duties
are to make decisions on all subdivision applications within the County as well as
discretionary use development permit applications. MPC decisions are directed by
federal, provincial and Council-approved statutory and non-statutory documents,
including: the Municipal Government Act (MGA), the South Saskatchewan Regional
Plan (SSRP), Regional Growth Management Strategy (RGMS), Municipal
Development Plan (MDP), applicable Area Structure Plans (ASPs), Intermunicipal
Development Plans (IDPs), and the Land Use Bylaw (LUB).
Who can apply?
Any resident of Wheatland County over 18 years of age with an interest in planning
and development matters.
Meetings:
Meetings are held once per month, typically the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday at 9 a.m.
The 2018 schedule is available at www.wheatlandcounty.ca.
Length of Term:
One position will be in place until the 2019 Organizational meeting
Two positions will be in place until the 2020 Organizational meeting
Each of the initial members are eligible for re-appointment at the expiry of

CLEANING
We are looking for a student for maximum of 30 hours a week that fits this de-
scription and would be able to work out of the Growing Family Society office that
is located in the Strathmore Health Unit. Salary range is based on experience and
education with a starting rate of $14.00, no benefits, subject to grant approval.
