BLUE EYESTECHNOLOGY :

BLUE EYESTECHNOLOGY
WHAT IS BLUE EYES TECHNOLOGY :
Aims at creating computational machines that have perceptual and sensory ability
. Use camera and microphone to identify user actions and emotions WHAT IS BLUE E
YES TECHNOLOGY
The term BLUE EYES :
The term BLUE EYES BLUE in the term stands for Bluetooth, which enables reliable
wireless communication EYES , because the eye movement enables us to obtain a l
ot of interesting and important information.
NEED OF BLUE EYES TECHNOLOGY :
To built a machine that can understand your emotions A pc that can listen, talk
or scream Verify your identity, feels your presence and interact with you. NEED
OF BLUE EYES TECHNOLOGY
TECHNOLGIES USED :
Emotion Mouse Manual And Gaze Input Cascaded (MAGIC) Artificial Intelligent Spee
ch Recognition Simple User Interest Tracker (SUITOR) TECHNOLGIES USED
EMOTION MOUSE :
Simplest way People spend approximately 1/3 of their total computer time touchin
g input device Physiological data is obtained and emotional state is determined
A user model will be built that reflects the personality of user. EMOTION MOUSE
EXPERIMENT :
Measurement of heart rate, temperature, galvanic skin response (GSR), general so
matic activity Heart rate was measured with chest strap sensor, temperature with
thermocouple attached to a digital multimeter (DMM), GSR also with DMM, somatic
movement with computer mouse movements Six basic emotions are anger, fear, sadn
ess, disgust, joy and surprise EXPERIMENT
ANALYSIS :
Firstly, a multidimensional procedure was used to determine dimensionality of da
ta Fit the physiological similarities and dis-similarities into four dimensional
table Secondly, discriminant function analysis was used to determine mathematic
function that would distinguish the six emotional state. Suggest that all four
physiological variables are sufficient to distinguish the six states ANALYSIS
MAGIC POINTING :
To dynamically redefine the home position of the pointing cursor to be at the cl
ose vicinity of the target Reduce the cursor movement needed for target selectio
n Click on the target with a regular manual input device Two magic pointing tech
niques Liberal Conservative Improvement over the traditional eye gaze system Red
uce physical effort and fatigue, greater accuracy and naturalness and faster spe
ed than traditional eye gaze system MAGIC POINTING
LIMITATIONS OF TRADITIONAL EYE GAZE POINTING :
Unnatural to overload a perceptual channel with a motor control task The subcons
cious jittery motion of eyes Eye, a primary perceptual device is not a control o
rgan Target not selected if not looked at for a set threshold Target selected if
stared at without user intention LIMITATIONS OF TRADITIONAL EYE GAZE POINTING
LIBERAL APPROACH :
To warp the cursor to every new object user looks at User take control of the ta
rget by hand near the target or ignore it and search for next Pro active since cur
sor wait on every potential target over active when user merely looking at the tar
get LIBERAL APPROACH
CONSERVATIVE APPROACH :
Does not warp the cursor target until the manual input device has been actuated
Cursor is warped to gaze area reported by the eye tracker Steer the cursor towar
ds the target to complete the target acquisition Cursor position is offset to th
e intersection of manual actuation vector and the boundary of gaze area CONSERVA
TIVE APPROACH
ADVANTAGES OF LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE APPROACH :
Reduction of manual stress and fatigue Practical accuracy level A more natural m
ental model for the user Faster than pure manual pointing Improved subjective sp
eed and ease of use ADVANTAGES OF LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE APPROACH
DISADVANTAGES OF LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE APPROACH :
Liberal approach is distracting when the user is trying to read The motor action
computation cannot start until the cursor appears In conservative approach, unc
ertainty of the exact location prolong the target acquisition time DISADVANTAGES
OF LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE APPROACH
IBM ALMADEN EYE TRACKER :
Rely on a single light source that is off or on the axis Illumination from an of
f axis source generate a dark pupil image On axis generate a bright pupil image
Use two infrared time multiplexed light sources composed of two IR LED s Pupil det
ection is realized by subtracting dark pupil image from bright pupil image After
thresholding difference largest connected component is identified as pupil IBM
ALMADEN EYE TRACKER
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGIENT SPEECH RECOGNITION :
Input words are scanned and matched against internally stored words Identificati
on causes some action to be taken User speaks to the computer through microphone
Filtered and fed to ADC and then stored in RAM Binary representation become sta
ndard , against which future are compared pattern matching is designed to look f
or the best fit because of variations in loudness, pitch, frequency difference,
time gap etc. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGIENT SPEECH RECOGNITION
APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGIENT SPEECH RECOGNITION :
To control weapons by voice commands Pilot give commands to computers by speakin
g into microphones For making airline and hotel reservations For making reservat
ions, canceling reservations or making enquiries Can be connected to word proces
sors and instead of writing, simply dictate to them APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL IN
TELLIGIENT SPEECH RECOGNITION
SUITOR :
Help by fetching more information at desktop Notice where the user s eyes focus on
the screen Fills a scrolling ticker on a computer screen with information relat
ed to user s task Ex. If reading headline ,pops up the story in the browser window
SUITOR
BLUE EYES ENABLED DEVICES :
BLUE EYES ENABLED DEVICES POD Technology used in cars PONG A Robot
APPLICATIONS :
BLUE EYES technology can be used : In retailing record and interpret customer mo
vements In automobile industry In video games To create Face Responsive Display an
d Perceptive Environment APPLICATIONS
CONCLUSION :
Provide more delicate and user friendly facilities in computing devices Gap betw
een the electronic and physical world is reduced The computers can be run using
implicit commands instead of the explicit commands CONCLUSION
Conscious is what you are thinking of at the moment. For instance, I am consciou
s of what I want to say in answer to your question, and that I am typing out my
answer.
Preconscious is a Freudian concept where you're not thinking of something at the
moment, but it can easily be recalled and brought to mind. So, I wasn't thinkin
g of what I had for breakfast this morning when I was typing this answer, but I
can easily recall it. (the prefix of "pre-" lets you know that it could be on th
e verge of consciousness)
Subconscious has a few different meanings, but the literal one we can take from
the word itself. The prefix of "sub-" meaning "below" or "under" leads us to thi
nk of the subconscious as being "under" the realm of consciousness. Contrary to
what people might think, it's not a Freudian concept. Some people explore the id
ea of subconsciousness through things like hypnosis, or try and appeal to the "s
ubconscious" through subliminal messages. Either way, you're not aware of these
things taking place.
Unconscious is the direct opposite of conscious...in a physiological sense it co
uld be if you were knocked out and were not responding to any stimuli in your en
vironment. In a psychological sense, it could just be the mind doing something t
hat's way out of your consciousness, like we are unconsciously breathing right n
ow.
