KNOW YOUR GOD

2018 THEMES

JANUARY: Know God, know Hope.


“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm
you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

FEBRUARY: Know God, know Love.


By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. (John 13:35)

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay
down our lives for our brothers and sisters. (1 John 3:16)

MARCH: Know God, know Mercy.


But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even
when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:4-5)

He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. (Titus
3:5a)

APRIL: Know God, know Courage.


So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you
and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. (Exodus 14:14)

MAY: Know God, know Light.


I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the
light of life. (John 8:12)

JUNE: Know God, know Strength.


But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

JULY: Know God, know Joy.


You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal
pleasures at your right hand. (Habakkuk 3:17-18)
AUGUST: Know God, know Sacrifice.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and
take up their cross and follow me.” (Matthew 16:24)

SEPTEMBER: Know God, know Compassion.


Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. (Matthew 8:3a)

OCTOBER: Know God, know Faithfulness.


Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are
new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)

NOVEMBER: Know God, know Peace.


Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are
with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 34:4)

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or
pain, for the old order of things has passed away. (Revelation 21:4)

DECEMBER: Know God, know Life.


For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not
perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but in order that the world might be saved through him. (John 3:16-17)

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through me.” (John 14:6)
