RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
SeeSaw is a classroom management and portfolio building application that allows teachers to digitally track, grade, and archive
their students’ work using catalogues of pictures of the work’s hard copies.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PORTFOLIOS

How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote student-centered learning?
I would use SeeSaw to aggregate material over the course of a semester or half-semester to formatively assess student
progress. The app seems to have little impact in the context of a single lesson, but applying it on a broader scale appears to be
effective.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
 Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.
I would rate SeeSaw a ‘2’ on the scale. It certainly aligns to content standards and will be used by students directly, as they
have to photograph their work for grading. It does not enhance the lesson, but I would argue that it enhances the learning
achieved through the lesson by creating a pathway by which the student’s progress can be measured from the top-down.
Scrolling through a page of a student’s work in chronological order from the beginning of the semester to the end is invaluable
in measuring progress, and the teacher’s ability to easily catalogue all student work is helpful for continuity’s sake. For these
reasons, I believe SeeSaw deserves a strong ‘2’.
