1X DUS31/DUS41 have 6 CPRI ports /DUS=Digital Unit Multi-standard.

1 x XMU hardware (Version 2) have 16 ports.

In order to write new parameters on DUS, the existing cells need to be locked.

1. Carrier growth with no changes on existing LTEs.

a) Existing configuration : 1X Existing carrier with 3 Radios.( 1 x DUS present on site)

I) Adding 1 new carrier with 3 Radios. No modification on existing carrier (only lock/unlock).

The hardware for new carrier can be pre-install. New Radios can be plugin and turn on before
integration. Digital Unit has the ports enable only for existing Radios.

IF THE HARDARE UNITS WILL BE INSTALLED AND POWERED , NO TECHNICIAN WILL BE REQUIRED ON SITE.

Remote Integration steps:

1. Run pre-check of the site .

2. Check if the license will hold another 3 cells./If not activate the emergency license( A normal
license should work for 6 cells)Design team can check existing site with 3 cells and 6 cell and
compare the feature from the license.
3. Create a CV with existing status and configuration of the site.
4. Lock existing carrier.
5. Create the new Radios( when defining the Radios , the DUS ports will became enable.)
6. Create RF branches ( Radios ports)
7. Create a CV before continue forward.
8. Reboot/Reload with the CV created.
9. After the Reload/Reboot, the Radios will became enable(firmware will be loaded and the
product information from the Radio will be auto-updated inside the mib file.
10. Create the new carrier cells with desire parameters from customer( only 6-7 parameters are
required to define in order to build a cell/ the another ones will be default if no value is defined).
11. Create CV( After adding the Cells)
12. Define the neighbours relations(and/or desired parameters that AT&T could required) / if RITC
will perform this task.
13. Create a CV(After neighbours/desired parameters that AT&T could required).
14. Preform checks after cell are defined( alarms, VSWR, RSSI, new hardware units..)
15. Preform a final CV after site is alarm free after carrier growth.
16. Preform post-check of the site( Only after possible alarm from carrier growth are cleared)
II) Adding 1 new carrier with 6 Radios. No modification on existing carrier (only
lock/unlock).(1 X DUS present on site)

a) If the Radios will be cascade, repeat steps from I) Adding 1 new carrier with 3 Radios. (the process
will be similar but the line commands(integrator) will create 3 extra Radios)

b) If the Radios will be stand alone ( they should be connected all in the Digital unit) XMU needed in
this case in order to support more then 6 Radios.

IF THE HARDARE UNITS WILL BE INSTALLED AND POWERED , NO TECHNICIAN WILL BE REQUIRED ON SITE.

1. Run pre-check of the site .

2. Check if the license will hold another 3 or 6(2 cells per sector) cells./If not activate the
emergency license.Design team can check existing site with 6 cells and 9 cell and compare the
feature from the license.
3. Create a CV with existing status and configuration of the site.
4. Lock existing carrier.
5. Define the XMU and the ports for new 6 Radios.
6. Create the new Radios( when defining the Radios , the DUS/XMU ports will became enable.)
7. Create RF branches ( Radios ports)
8. Create a CV before continue forward.

III) Adding 1 new carrier with 3 or 6 Radios. No modification on existing carrier (only
lock/unlock).(2 X DUS present, 2 or 3 carriers present(XMU is already present on such
configuration)

The hardware for new carrier can be pre-install. New Radios can be plugin and turn on before
integration. Digital Unit and the XMU have the ports enable only for existing Radios.

IF THE HARDARE UNITS WILL BE INSTALLED AND POWERED , NO TECHNICIAN WILL BE REQUIRED ON SITE.

2. Carrier growth with changes on existing carriers.

a)Existing configuration : 1X Existing carrier with 6 Radios(or Two existing carriers totaling 6
Rarios)

I) Adding 1 new carrier with 3 or 6 Radios. Modification on existing carrier (Radios port
reconfiguration).XMU needed if is not present/defined on site.

1) New XMU required (Existing Digital unit can be use(Need to check existing sites with 3 carrier for a
single DUS capacity)

Radios can be installed and connected to new XMU . The link between XMU and DUS can NOT be
installed before integration.

TECHNICIAN WILL BE REQUIRED ON SITE IN ORDER TO ADJUST THE NEW CPRI PORTS CONFIGURATION.(DUS
AND XMU PORTS)

1. Run pre-check of the site .

2. Check if the license will hold another 3 or 6(2 cells per sector) cells./If not activate the
emergency license. Design team can check existing site with 9 cells and 12 cell and compare the
feature from the license.
3. Create a CV with existing status and configuration of the site.
4. Lock existing carrier.
5. Notify field technician to make the necessary ports changes.
6. Modify existing Radios ports/Define the new ports configuration for XMU and DUS .(No any
changes needed on existing carriers(Only the ports reference will be changed).
7. Check if existing carrier/carriers radios is/are enable and working.(If not, troubleshoot with the
field technician).Do not proceed with integration if the existing carriers are disable.
8. Create a CV after existing carriers(radios and cells) are enable(not unlock).
9. Create the new Radios( when defining the Radios , the DUS/XMU ports will became enable.)
10. Create RF branches(ONLY FOR NEW CARRIER/OLD ONES WILL REMANE THE SAME) ( Radios ports)
11. Create a CV before continue forward.
12. Reboot/Reload with the CV created.
13. After the Reload/Reboot, the new radios will became enable(firmware will be loaded and the
product information from the radios will be auto-updated inside the mib file.

20. Preform post-check of the site( Only after possible alarm from the site are cleared)
2) New XMU and DUS required.(New DUS will be required if 1 DUS will not have capacity to hold new
configuration or if AT&T will required)

Radios can be installed and connected to new XMU . The link between XMU and DUS can NOT be
installed before integration. New DUS will be mirrored(cascaded) with existing one(I'm not yet familiar
with this process) We will required a TEST site in order to not lose too much time on the first one and in
the worst case, to roll-back the integration.

TECHNICIAN WILL BE REQUIRED ON SITE IN ORDER TO ADJUST THE NEW CPRI PORTS CONFIGURATION.(DUS
AND XMU PORTS) AND BETWEEN THE DIGITAL UNITS.

4. Field technician will backup locally, on his pc, an image of the Digital Unit drive.(We will have
a backup if the mirror process will not be complete and we can’t fix the site remotely)The
process will take ~ 20-30 minutes, so this step can be made before the activity starts. )
5. Lock existing carrier.
6. Notify field technician to make the necessary ports changes.
7. Modify existing Radios ports/Define the new ports configuration for XMU and DUSs .(No any
changes needed on existing carriers(parameters)(Only the ports reference will be changed).
8. Check if existing carrier/carriers radios is/are enable and working.(If not, troubleshoot with the
field technician).Do not proceed with integration if the existing carriers are disable.
9. Create a CV after existing carriers(radios and cells) are enable(not unlock).

21. Preform post-check of the site( Only after possible alarm from the site are cleared)
3) Increasing capacity on existing carriers.

a) On sites where the actual configuration will support increase of capacity (We need to check if
the Digital Unit and/or license will let us to define other 3 cell/increase the output power.

1) Define 3 new cells( Radios can be cascaded or stand alone for each cell)
I)Cascated Radios will
