ABSTRACT

Tetanus is a serious problem and can result in death. Neonatal tetanus is a disease that is
dangerous and has a high rate of morbidity. Therefore neonatal tetanus disease should be
immediately addressed. This disease may affect all ages, but is more common in newborns
called neonatal tetanus. The purpose of this study was to determine the Level of Knowledge
and Relationships Family Support Implementation of Immunization with Tetanus Toxoid
(TT) On Pregnant Women in Health Center Padang Nanggalo 2015.

This type of research is analytic with cross sectional study. The population in this study
were all pregnant women who are in the third trimester Nanggalo Puskesmas Padang from
January to July 2015 as many as 317 people with a sample of 76 people. The sampling
technique uses accidental sampling.

The results showed that of the 76 respondents who have the status of implementation of
TT did not take place at 39.47%, which has a low knowledge level of 38.16% and whose
status does not support amounting to 46.05% . There was a significant relationship between
the level knowledge and family support with the implementation of TT immunization in
health centers Padang Nanggalo 2015.

The level of knowledge and support of family influence in the execution of pregnant
women TT immunization. Expected for health workers in health centers is expected to
increase counseling and information about TT immunization for pregnant mothers.
