Sentences by completing a worksheet and scoring an 80% average.
Student’s will know how to form a specific type of sentence by
creating 12 different index cards on Quizlet with each one listing a
different type of sentence and be quizzed over them with the class
average at a 90%. Student’s will create a short story in pairs of two
using all four types of sentences and post it online in Word Document
to form a class book.

1. Student’s will understand the difference between the Types of
Sentences by completing a worksheet and scoring an 80% average.
2. Student’s will know how to form a specific type of sentence by

 Introduction: I will begin the class with using a few sentences
such as: I have a hat. I like ice cream. I will ask the student’s
which sentence they think it would be, declarative,
imperative, interrogative, or exclamatory sentence. Then I
would proceed to change the ending of the sentences and ask
the student’s how the endings change the sentence meaning.
(5 minutes).
 Instruction: Once the students have made their educated
guesses. I will write the four words on the white board and
explain each type of sentence. With the explanation I will also
include a sentence to illustrate an example. (10 minutes).
 Interactive Practice: I will have a Quizlet created for my
classroom prior to the beginning of class. Then I will send
students to collect their Mac Books and ask them to log on to
the Quizlet site and join my classroom. Student’s will have 20
minutes to create 24 flash cards each with a different type of
sentence. (20 minutes)
 Independent Working: After creating the Quizlet flashcards
students will return to their seats and work on a worksheet
to reflect the knowledge they have obtained. They will have
20 minutes to complete this worksheet. (20 minutes).

worksheet, student’s will be paired off in groups of two. They
will grab their Language Art Journals and work together to
create a fun short story using the different types of sentences.
Once they have written the story on paper, one student will
log in on the Mac Book and type the story in a document
shared to the classroom to create a class book. (15 minutes)
 Review & Closing: Student’s then will have the opportunity to
either continue to write their story or log on to Quizlet to
practice the flashcards. (10 minutes). The last 10 minutes I
will read the class book to the classroom.
I will be using a worksheet to test the student’s comprehension over the
material that was taught in class.
I will be using the website Quizlet for students to create their own flashcards
to practice with at home, and it gives them the ability to use different review
games.
I will be using a word document and the students’ Language Arts Journals to
create a class book that features short stories created by student’s.
Student’s will be completing a worksheet with an average of an 80% for a
score.
Student’s will score a 90% average over the Quizlet review game.
Student’s will successfully create short stories to add into a class book.
