ATA Science Council

2016-2017 – Conference Director – Organized an annual conference for Alberta science teachers; booked and arranged
payment for the venue; planned the program for the conference and booked keynote speakers; collected proposals from
speakers and scheduled their sessions; organized the council volunteers and was the go-to for delegate concerns;
attended the ATA Spring Professional Development Area Conference.
2014-2016 – Assistant Conference Director – Assisted the conference director as required leading up to and during the
annual conference; attended the ATA Summer Conference to develop skills necessary for planning a large specialist
council conference.

2017-2019 – Senior High Representative for the PD Committee – Organizes professional learning opportunities for Calgary
Board of Education teachers.
2016 – Calgary City Teachers’ Convention – Offered a well-attended session about using technology to promote
differentiated and flexible learning.
2017-2018 – Annual Representative Assembly Delegate – Meets with Alberta teachers to debate and vote on budgetary
and policy issues as a representative of Calgary teachers.
