Malin Kundang

Once upon a time, there lived an old woman with her son, named Malin. They lived suffered
and hanged in the forest.

Mom : “Malin, come here son, help me to carry these firewood.”

Malin : “Yes mom, wait a minute.” (Malin helped his mother)
Malin : “Mom, Why we are always poor??? I want something new that can make
us become rich.
Mom : “I don’t know Malin, we must be patient and don’t stop praying to God.”
Malin : “Mom, I have an idea, would you let me go away to change my fortune?? Who
knows I will be a rich man.”

Malin and his mother came back to home, but his Mother just kept silent about his idea
after they had arrived at home.

Malin : “Mom, how about my idea?”

Mom : “I think it’s not good idea my son, because if you go, who will watch me
here, don’t you love me, Malin.”
Malin : “But mom, if I don’t change my fortune when will it last? I promise mom, if I could
be a rich man, I would come back. Just relax mom, I will talk to Dayat, Dayat will watch you until I
come back to home.”

Malin’s mother couldn’t forbid what Malin wanted. So, She agreed with Malin’s idea.
Mom : “Alright, if this is your decision, I will permit you to go Malin! But don’t forget me,
and remember your promise.”

Malin went to Dayat house to ask him to watch Malin’s mother until he came back and
asked Dayat his plan to go away to change his fortune. Dayat is best friend of Malin, and
they are always together.
Dayat : “what is going on, Malin?”
Malin : “tomorrow I will go away to change my fortune.”
Dayat : “what? if you go, who will watch your mother here?.”
Malin : “for this I come to you, I want you to watch my mother until I come back, please.”
Dayat : “yes, certainly. My message for you, don’t forget us here, Malin.”

In the next day, Malin’s mother accompanied her son to the harbour…
Mom : ” Take care yourself, and you must hurry to come back!
Malin : ” Yes mom, please pray for me, so I can be a rich man. and you Dayat Please
take care my mother until I come back.”
Dayat : “Don’t worry Malin. I promise, I will take care your mother. Be careful.”
Mom : “good bye my son.”
Dayat : “Good bye, Malin.”

Finally, Malin went for sailing with a rich man. In the ship, the Captain gave him a job as
crew, and Malin received it. The captain had a beautiful daughter. Malin worked actively. He
worked hardly without knowing what tired is. Malin always thought the owner’s daughter.
Her name is Ningrum. She is very beautiful.
Malin : “She is very beautiful. I like her and I must marry her. If that something happen, I
will be a rich man.”
Ningrum : “hay, do you see my dad?
Malin : “ehmmmmm, I don’t know. Maybe he is in the kitchen.”
Ningrum : “thanks for your information.”
Malin : “you’re welcome.”

In the village, mom very concerned about Malin’s life. And mom was afraid if Malin didn’t
come back.
Mom : “Dayat, where is Malin? I miss my son. I am afraid if Malin don’t come back.”
Dayat : “don’t be afraid, Mom. Malin will come back. He had promised to come back. Be
patient, Mom. I’m here for you. Don’t be afraid.”
Mom : “yes, Dayat.”

One day, the captain called Malin, and he will rise Malin’s job become captain in that ship. A
few years later, Malin has became a rich man.

Ship owner : “ehmmm, you work well, anything that you do is awesome. What is your name?
How long have you been working here?
Malin : “my name is Malin sir. I have been working here for 2 years.
Ship owner : “it’s quite long. Ok, because work well here, I will raise your job become captain in
this ship.
Malin : “are you sure sir? Thanks sir, thanks.
Ship owner : “okay, started from tomorrow you will captain in this ship, and now you must finish
your job left.

A few months later, Malin wanted to get Ningrum, and he wanted Ningrum to be his
girlfriend.

Malin’s mom very missed her son. Mom tired for waiting Malin’s comeback. Dayat always
gave support for Malin’s mom that Malin will come back and be a rich man.

news about Malin.”
Dayat : “I trust mom, Malin will come back and be a rich man.

After Malin has become a rich man, Malin married with the captain’s daughter, Ningrum.
They were very happy, and were romantic couple.

Malin : Hello, my honey, what are you thinking about?

Ningrum : My husband, shall we go on trip to an island for honeymoon?
Malin : That’s good idea my wife, how about Dua Angsa Island?
Ningrum : Okay my husband, I agree with you!
Malin : Okay! If you agree, we will start tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Malin and his wife sailed to Dua Angsa Island. On their way, Malin’s ship
stopped in an island to refill their fuel supplies. Fortunately, that Island was Malin’s village.
When arrived there, Malin went out from his ship. And Dayat saw Malin at the harbour.

Dayat : “ Malin… Is that Malin? Yeah, that’s Malin. I must tell it to his mother.”

Dayat went to mom’s house to tell her about Malin’s cameback. Dayat was very happy
about Malin’s comeback. If Mom knew this news, she would be happy.
Dayat : “Mom…Mom…”
Mom : “I’m here Dayat.”
Dayat : “Mom, Malin is coming back. He has become a rich man now!”
Mom : “Are you sure that the person whom you look is Malin?”
Dayat : “Yes, I’m sure mom, impossible if I forget his face. I still remember his Face.”
Mom : “If you are right, please accompany me to go there.”

Dayat accompanied Malin’s mother to her son. When reached there, Malin’s mother met her
son.

Mom : “Malin… Malin my son! Malin….”

Ningrum : “Who is that old woman, my husband?”
(Malin can’t answer Ningrum’s question)
Ningrum : “who is she, my husband?”
Mom : Malin, who is she? Is she your wife? She is very beautiful, come here…!
Ningrum : “argh, don’t touch me!”
Malin : “Don’t touch her! You are dirty, her skin can be dirty too!”
Ningrum : “Who is that old woman? Is she your mother? She is very dirty.”
Malin : “I don’t know, my wife…!”
Mom : “Malin, my son. Do you remember your promise? I’m your mother!”
Malin : “Who are you poor old woman? I don’t know you. My mother isn’t dirty like you…!!

(After pushing his mother away, Malin came back to his ship)
Mom : Malin… Malin… Don’t leave your mother Malin…! My God, how could you say
that? I can’t take his anymore. I curse you… Turn into a stone…!!!

After that, suddenly the storm is coming and destroying Malin’s ship, flash of lightning
coming to his body.

Malin : What’s happening? My body… I can’t move! Mom… I’m sorry mom… I’m sorry…!!!
Ningrum : What’s happening…?? What’s happening to you, my husband?
Why…??!!MALINNNNNNN!!!!!

And Malin become a stone when he was begging to his mother. Ship, crew and his wife
sunk down to bottom of the sea. That’s result if we rebellious to our parents especially to
our mother.
 The Real Story of Pinocchio
Characters:

Mr. Geppetto : Old man who work as a woodworker.

Pinokio : The son of Mr. Gepeto. He was a wooden doll.

Fairy : The godmother fairy that help Pinokio to be a human.

Giovani : The owner of a puppet show.

Carlo : The Pinocchio’s classmate.

Once upon a time, in a small village lived an old carpenter named Mr. Geppetto. He was a carpenter
who really wanted a child to accopanied him in his life. Finnaly, he could make a live puppet from a
strange wood given by his friend.

Geppetto : I will make you my son. I am so happy that I can have a son now.

Pinocchio : ouch . . . It’s really hurt. Do it slowly old man.

Geppetto : I’m your father, I’m making you now. Be polite to your father.

Pinocchio : I’m sorry.

Geppetto : I’m finish now. I will call you Pinocchio. I hope you can be a good boy.

Mr. Geppetto fells so happy that he can have a son. He teach Pinocchio to walk, speak, and all the
human do in their live. When Pinocchio see the other kids go to school, he ask Mr. Geppetto to make
him going to school.

Pinocchio : Father, I want to go to school.

Geppetto : I believe it is the best for you, but I don’t have enough money to make you learn in the
school.

Pinocchio : But, I really want to study. I will learn how to write, how to count, and how to read to help
you in your old age.

Geppetto : I know son. Wait here, I will go out for a moment.

Mr. Geppeto go out with his coat, but when he comes back Geppetto does not bring his coat.

Geppetto : You will go to the school son. This is your book.

Pinocchio : yes. . .but father, where is your coat?

Geppetto : I sold it, it makes me too warm.

Pinocchio : You do it for me father. Thank you. (Hug and kiss his father)

The next day, Pinocchio goes to school. In the way to school, he sees a puppet show and want to
get inside to watch the show. Because he has no money, he sells his book to buy the ticket.

Giovani : What is your name boy?

Pinocchio : Pinocchio. My name is Pinocchio.

Giovani : Come with me, Let’s go to the stage.

Suddenly, Giovani make him as the show. Pinocchio is happy with the show. When the show ends,
Giovani sit and cook meat. He wants to make Pinocchio as the firewood.

Giovani : Come here, Pinocchio. I need a good firewood to cook my meat.

Pinocchio : Help me, father. I don’t want to die

Giovani : you have a father?

Pinocchio : yes, but I don’t know who is my mother.

Giovani : I will look so bad if I kill you. Here is some coins for you and a coat for your father. Tell him
I’m sorry.

Pinocchio : Thank you very much.

Giovani : Go now, or I will change my mind. Now I have to eat half cook meat.

Pinocchio runs away from the camp where the puppet show located. On the way home, Pinocchio
sees a fox and a cat. They trick Pinocchio to bury his coins in order to get more money. When
Pinocchio buries his coins, suddenly a trap hangs Pinocchio in the tree and the fox and the cat take
his money.

Pinocchio cries. A fairy hears him and help him.

Fairy : What are you doing there? Are you tricked by the fox bandit?

Pinocchio : No, I just lost them from my pocket.

Fairy : You tell a lie. I know it because your nose will stretch as you lie.

Pinocchio : I’m sorry.

Fairy : Don’t tell a lie. Be honest young boy.

Pinocchio tells the truth and the fairy help him to go home. Pinocchio tells Mr. Geppetto the stories
and his father forgive him. Pinocchio promises that he will go to school and study well tomorrow. In
the next day, Pinocchio meets his friend Carlo.
Carlo : Hei Pinocchio, I hear that there is a toyland. We can paly all day there.

Pinocchio : Do such a place really exist?

Carlo : Yes, a wagon will bring me there this evening. Would you like to go with me?

Pinocchio : Of course. I will go with you.

In the evening, Carlo and Pinocchio go to the toyland.

Pinocchio : This is really exist.

Carlo : I was right, wasn’t I?

Pinocchio : Yes Carlo, Thank to you. I’m very happy here.

Pinocchio plays in the toyland till the next day. When he awakes, he surprised to see that he has tail
and all of his body changes into a donkey. The owner of the toyland sell Carlo to a farmer and
Pinocchio is sold to a show owner to learn every trick. Unfortunately, Pinocchio can’t learn the tricks
and his owner decide to throw him into the sea. In the depth of the sea.

Pinocchio : What I have done, I broke my promise and now I will die. I’m sorry father.

Suddenly, Pinocchio swallowed by a whale. When he wakes in the womb of the whale he heard a
voice.

Geppetto : Help. . . Help . . . Is there anybody can help me?

Pinocchio : Father . .is that you father? (Scream)

Geppetto : Is that you Pinocchio? is it you my son? I have searched you anywhere in the island and
I can’t find you. Then I make a boat to search you in the sea and this whale swallow me and broke
the boat.

Pinocchio : I’m sorry father, I broke my promise and make you in danger.

Geppetto : Well. I think we should get out of this whale right now.

They make a torch and burn the whale stomach. It make the whale in pain so they can run from the
whale.

Pinocchio : We are out now father. Let’s go to the shore.

Geppetto : I can move son, I’m too tired.

Pinocchio : Hold me father. I will bring you home.

Pinocchio uses all his life to bring Mr. Geppetto to the shore and bring him to their home. When Mr.
Geppetto and Pinocchio sleep, the fairy come to Pinocchio dream. In his dream, the fairy changes
Pinocchio to the human. In the next morning, Pinocchio runs to the mirror.

Pinocchio : I’m a real human. The dream is true.

The fairy comes.

Fairy : When a bad boy can be a good boy. Their looks can change too.

Geppetto : Thank you fairy.

Pinocchio : Thank you fairy. I will try to be a good boy.

Fairy : I hope so.

Then, that is Pinocchio changes into a real boy and life with his father.

Once upon a time. In a village near the jungle lived a couple of old farmer. The lived very happy
there, but they still wanted to have a child and it make them sad. Day by day they prayed to God to
give them a child.

One day, a bad giant passed their home and listen to their pray.

Old Woman : Oh God. My husband and I have been live for many years with no child. But we are
still patient to wait a child from you.

Old man : Please God. Let us be happy in the end of our life.

The Giant who hears the Old couple come to them.

The Giant : Hahahahahahaha. I can hear you old man.

Old woman : Please giant don’t kill us. We will give you everything.

Old man : Please. Let us life.

The Giant : Don’t be scared, I will give you a chance to have a child in one condition. If your child
have been 17 years old. you should give her to me. I want to eat her.

Old Woman : How you can give me a child?

Old man : We have pray for many years and nothing happen. How you can give us a child.

The Giant : I will give you this seed. Plant it in your field, then a cucumber palnt will grow. Pick
up the cucumber and you will find a kid inside it. (give the seed)

Old Woman : (accept the seed) oh. Thank you giant. Thank you very much.

The giant : Remember. I will take her 17 years later. If you break your promise, I will eat you
both. (leave the old couple farmer)

Old man : Of course. Thank you Giant.

The Old farmer do as the giant said. The cucumber plant has a big cucumber. The old woman took
it and open the cucumber carefully and she find a litte baby girl in it. They take care of the girl with
all their love. They name her Timun Mas.

15 years later.

Old Woman : Look at our daughter. She is very smart, beautiful, and kind.

Old man : Yes, I will be very sad that we should give her to the giant.

Old Woman : we should think how to save her.

Old man : Of course, I will do everything for our Timun Mas.

When they are talking, the giant come.

The Giant : Hey old man. I come to take your daughter.

Old Woman : But, She is 15 years old now.

Old man : Yes, she still very small for you. We promise to give her when she is 17 years old.

The Giant : Ok. I will come two years later. Don’t try to save her or I will kill you and her.

All day the old couple look very sad because they can’t save their daughter. Until they heard about
a hermit live in the jungle. just a few days before the giant comes, the old man come to see the
hermit and bring 4 pack of thing.

Old Woman : What you bring my husband?

Old Man : The hermit said that these can help Timun Mas. Now we should tell Timun Mas so
we can save her.

Timun Mas : Yes mother, father. You call me?

Old man : We will tell you a story. We can have you because the giant help us.

Old Woman : Now, the giant want to take you and eat you. We will make you run from here so you
can live.

Timun Mas : How about you mom, dad. You will be hurt. If the giant want me, give me. It is
important for me to see mother and father live.

Old Man : We will be ok my daughter.

Old woman : Here. Use this to protect yourself, This is 4 pack which contain cucumber seed,
needle, salt, and shrimp paste.

Old man : You should use it when the giant near to you. you should run by tomorrow morning.
Timun Mas : Yes mother, father. I will do what you say. But promise me, mother and father will be
ok. (hugh her parents) In the morning next day.

The Giant : Hey old man. Old Woman. Where is your daughter.

Old man : She is not here. She does not go home.

Old Woman : I will not give her to you.

The giant : You broke your promise old man. (Waves his hand and crush the old farmers house)

However, the giant can see Timun Mas run in the jungle. He runs to chase Timun Mas.

The Giant : Stop you Timun Mas. I will eat you.

Timun Mas : I will alive for my parents. (throw the cucumber seed).

Suddenly, the seed grow into a cucumber field that make the giant stops and eats a lot of
cucumber. When the giant realise that Timun Mas has run away, he runs to chase her.

The giant : Where are you Timun Mas? (scream)

When The giant close to Timun Mas, Timun Mas throw the needle. Suddenly, the sharp thorn grow
to obstruct the giant.

Timun Mas : I hope you stay there Giant.

The giant can get out of the thorn forest and chase Timun Mas. Then Timun Mas throw the shim
paste to a large field divide her and the giant. When the giant walk in that field, suddenly the field
turn into a live mud and swallow the giant.

The giant : Help. . .Help me Timun Mas. I will not eat you.

Timun Mas : It is too late Giant, I have tell you not to chase me.

Now, you will die and I will be back to live together with my family.

Finally, The Giant swallow by the live mud and never come back. Timun Mas can live happily with
her parents.

Once upon a time, in the village, there is a poor family which live with the shortage,
because of unprofit bussiness one day, the father wants to go trade.

Father : My daughters, I want to sell the goods by ship for long time. Take care of each other and
our house. Be nice.
Maid : Don’t worry sir. Your daughter will be all right with me. Just take care of your
self ...sir, because there are many
pirates in the sea see you soon, sir.

He wakes up and walk stowly toward that castle it is beast castle. After he come to the
castle he falls unconcious a day.The beast help and look after him. The next day he got up
and see many food in the table. He eats and then walks to the garden. He Pick up the rose
but suddenly beast comes ungryly.

Beast : Why are you brave to steal my rose even I help you.
Father : I don’t mean to do that. I just remember my daugther ( that ) love the rose very much
I Want to give this rose for my daughter as a give.
Beast : You cannot do that . The thief is a thief. You have to get the punish man.
Father : Please for give me. I think your rose will broom very much.
Beast : Ok. We have a. deal. Give me one of your daughther.
Father : No better you kill my self, Don’t take my daughter to be your bride.
Beast : Don’t bargain me. I just want your daughter.

( Beauty’s father comes home with sad face )

In Persia, there was a castle. The name was “Agrabah Castle”. In there,lived a princess and
sultan. One day, Sultan Agrabah asked to Princess Jasmine about her prince candidate as her
husband.

Sultan : Jasmine, you always ignore all of the prince, if they will marry you! You must have a
husband as a prince

from other kingdom before your birthday!

Jasmine : But daddy…

Sultan : I don’t care what you mean. I want you marry with the prince hurry!

Sultan Agrabah left Princess Jasmine alone in that room. But any someone heard that dialog. He
was the minister of this kingdom, Ja’far.

Ja’far : Hahaha… Princess Jasmine looking for a husband. I will be her husband, I will take
over of this kingdom,and I

will be the leader of this country. Hahaha….

Iago : A’a’a’a’…That’s right, that’s right.

Ja’far : I will be the winner of this game!

One night, Princess Jasmine run away from the castle with the helped of Rajah, her tiger. Princess
Jasmine climbed out the wall.

Jasmine : Good bye, Rajah! Take care my father. I will go to the near village and see my … live.

Jasmine : Oh Rajah, don’t be sad. I will come back quickly, I promise!

When Princess Jasmine arrived on the market of that village, she saw a pitiful child. She took an
apple and gave it to that child.

Seller : Hei you! Come here! (angry)

Seller : Pay for that apple! (to open widely)

They trough many small road. Finally, they arrived on Aladin’s house.

Aladin : Your welcome! (smile). Hi, my name is Aladin. What’s your name?

Jasmine : My name is Jasmine.

Aladin : Where do you come from?

Jasmine : Is that important for you?

Aladin : I’m sorry. I mean…

Aladin : (smile)

Aladin told to Jasmine if he really wanted to lived in the castle. Jasmine just heard that without any
comment. Suddenly, the castle’s soldier came and catched Aladin, they put him into the jail.

Ja’far : Hei son!

Aladin : What? Do you know if now I don’t want to talk with everyone? (angry)

Ja’far : I will give you free, but you must take the magic lamp from Agrabah Treasure Cave.

Aladin : Will you do that if I take it?

Ja’far : Of course I will.

Finally, Aladin got free from the jail and he went to the cave for took the lamp.

Aladin : Abu, where is the lamp?

Abu : U’u’k…A’a’k (smiling)

Aladin : Yeah..that’s the lamp! (while climb up the rock stairs)

Abu took a big diamond from the wall of cave and then, quake happend. The carpet took out
Aladin and Abu from the cave, but Aladin fell from the carpet and he hang on the rock. Ja’far
waited for Aladin in front of the cave.

Ja’far : Hei Aladin! Where’s the lamp? Give it to me hurry!

Aladin : Help me first! I don’t want to give the the lamp, if you don’t help me first!

Ja’far : I say, the lamp first!

Aladin : Ok..ok, this lamp for you! (give the lamp to Ja’far). Now, help me!

Ja’far : Never! Hahaha…

And then, Aladin fell down from the hanging rock. Suddenly, Abu took out the lamp from its clothes
and gave it to Aladin.

Abu : U’u’k..A’a’k

Aladin : Is that the real lamp?

Abu : U’u’u’k…

Aladin : Good job boy! (take the lamp with rub repeatedly the lamp)

Genie : Hoaamh..mmh, Oh thanks your majesty. You give me free from the lamp.
Aladin : Oh, never mind! It doesn’t mean anything for me.

Genie : Thank you very much, your majesty.

Aladin : Don’t call me like that. It should better if you just call my name, Alladin.

Genie : Ok, Al. Now, I give you 3 request.

Aladin : Mmh… (thinking). I want to go out from this cave.

After that, they went out from the cave and Aladin asked 1 request again.

Aladin : Genie, I want to ask 1 request again to you.

Genie : I’ll do it. That’s your honour Al.

On the next day, Aladin came to Agrabah Castle with a big parade. He pretend to be a prince. He
did it to attract Jasmine and the residence.

Aladin : Nice to see you, your majesty. I’m Ali Baba. I want to prupose your daughter.

Sultan : Hohoho.. That’s great. I can manage it. Now, I’ll call Jasmine first to introduce yourself.

Aladin : I’ll wait for you.

Sultan : (walk to Jasmine’s room) Jasmine…Jasmine.

Jasmine : What’s happend daddy?

Sultan : There is a prince waiting for you. Would you come to down stairs?

Jasmine : Never! I don’t want any kind of prince. I just want to meet Aladin!

Sultan : (go to down stairs) Prince Ali Baba. I’m sorry. Jasmine don’t want to come out from
her room. You can stay

here for a while to wait Jasmine. Maybe, she is tired now.

Aladin : Ok.
In the evening, Aladin flew up to balcoon of Jasmine’s bedroom. But Rajah didn’t like with the
comed of Aladin.

Rajah : (he looks angry with the coming of Aladin)

Jasmine : What’s wrong, Rajah?

Rajah : (walk approach to Aladin)

Jasmine : Hei you! What are you doing here? Go away! I don’t want marry with you. I just want to
marry with Aladin.

Aladin : Princess Jasmine, will you follow me to go to some places? I’ll show something to you.

Suddenly, Aladin came to castle and he looked for Jasmine. He wanted to told if last night Ja’far
tried to kill Aladin.

Jasmine : It’s impossible honey. How come he try to kill you?

Aladin : He wanted to steal my lamp.

Jasmine : Oh really? My father is hipnoted by Ja’far too. I think ya, we must be careful with Ja’far.
He is so licik.

Aladin : Jasmine, it’s better if you stay here and I want to looking for Ja’far. I want to take my
lamp back.

Jasmine : Mmh…ok.

Aladin : (walk for leave the castle)

Jasmine : Aladin?

Aladin : Hem?

Jasmine : Be careful.

Aladin : (smiling)

On the next day Ja’far asked 1 request to genie. He wanted Jasmine to fell in love with Ja’far.
Actually, genie couldn’t changed a felling of someone. So, Jasmine pretend to love Ja’far.

Jasmine : Ja’far, after this you will be the leader of this country.

Ja’far : Hahaha. You’re right princess.

Aladin : I’ll get back my lamp. (whispering)

Jasmine : Ok.

Aladin : Oh God! Where is the lamp?

Jasmine : (tell to Aladin with her eyes)

Aladin : Thank you.

Ja’far : Princess, what are you doing?

Jasmine : What? Mm… I just thinking about my father, Ja’far.

Abu : (falling something)

Ja’far : Hei Aladin, you take my lamp! Give it to me!

world.

Jasmine on the big jam pasir.

you! I want you to stay on

the lamp until any someone give you free.

Suddenly, appear a magic lamp menyedot Ja’far. Ja’far felt regreted when he wanted to change
his self to be a genie. First genie got free lived from the request of Aladin. Finally, Aladin and
Jasmine lived happily and ever after.
