Murrey maths lines are a part of murrey maths trading system. It gives various trading levels for stocks and indices similar to Fibonacci
retracements.
These lines consist of 9 equidistant lines which are parallel to each another. Murrey Math Lines from the bottom are at the levels 0/8, 1/8, 2/8, 3/8,
4/8, 5/8, 6/8, 7/8 and 8/8.

How to calculate murrey maths lines ?

For eg: let us consider today (29/10/2012) nifty open high low close
29/10/2012 5665.20 5698.30 5645.10 5665.60

Todays high is 5698.30 and low is 5645.10

To calculate murrey maths lines, we have to take the immediate natural square values above todays high (5698.30) and immediate natural
square value below todays low (5645.10)
Take the numbers from 70 to 80. So the natural square values are
Number square value

80 6400
79 6241

78 6084
77 5929
76 5776
75 5625
74 5476
73 5329
72 5184
71 5041
70 4900

From the above table we can see that, the immediate square value above todays high (5698.30) is 5776 which will be the ultimate resitance
for next day.
Simlarly, immediate square value below todays low(5645.10) is 5625 which will be the ultimate support for next day.

Using these two values, we will calculate the murrey maths lines.
HIGH 4 (ultimate resistance) = 8/8 = 5776
HIGH 3 (Strength test ) = 7/8 = [ 5776 - (5776-5625)/8 ] = 5757.10
HIGH 2 ( Pivot / reverse ) = 6/8 = [ 5757.10 - (5776-5625)/8] = 5738.30

HIGH 1 ( Inner range top ) = 5/8 = [ 5738.30 - (5776-5625)/8] = 5719.40
MIDPOINT ( Pivot point ) = 4/8 = [ 5719.40 - (5776-5625)/8] = 5700.50
LOW 1 ( Inner range bottom) = 3/8 = [ 5700.50 - (5776-5625)/8] = 5681.60
LOW 2 ( Pivot / reverse ) = 2/8 = [ 5681.60 - (5776-5625)/8] = 5662.80
LOW 3 ( Weakness test ) = 1/8 = [ 5662.80 - (5776-5625)/8] = 5643.90
LOW 4 (Ultimate support ) = 0/8 = 5625

These are the trade levels for tomorrow 30/10/2012

One can write the AFL for the same and use it in amibroker any other charting software.
happy trading.

Shanmuga Priya ji..

just as an example i have taken squares of 70 to 80
For eg. nifty has closed at 5998.90 on 1/2/2013. If you take the square root of this number 5998.90, it comes to 77.45
This 77.45 is in between 77 & 78. You have to take square of 77 ie 5929 & square of 78 ie 6084 as lower and
upper boundary respectively.
Therefore just as an example i have taken numbers 70 to 80 just to show the squares. Thats all.

Vijayan ji..
i had posted few days ago that, in all the levels of murrey maths lines, the following levels are very important levels.
0/8, 2/8, 4/8, 6/8, 8/8.
Please note that, there is always fair chance that price will move two levels on the upside or down side in a normal circumstances.
ie if the price is near 4/8, it has a fair chance that price may move up to 6/8 level or price can move down to 2/8 level also. Accordingly you
have to keep the stop loss.
thank u

Dear Kripakarji,
Kindly advise whether the murrey math lines are good for positional trading only OR will it work for intraday too ? Couple of days back I short-sold
BNF intraday at 4/8 level and it hit my stop loss at 6/8 level on the same day. Regards Vijayan

Mohd awesh ji
murrey maths levels changes only if the price close above or below the ultimate resistance (8/8) or ultimate support (0/8) level on any day. Till
that time, the same level continues.

As regards, the natural squares i have just shown as an example the natural squares of all the numbers between 70 to 80.
Nifty is closed at 5686.25 on 9/11/2012. If you take the square root of this number(5686.25), it comes to 75.41

75.41 lies in between 75 and 76.

Therefore the ultimate resistance (8/8) level for next trading days is square of 76 = 5776

Similarly ultimate support (0/8) level for next trading days is square of 75 = 5625.
All the in between levels you can calculate using the formula.

thank you
