The beginning – Products evolution
 1954 The factory is founded by the Diestre family.
 1980s The factory is acquired by the EB national Group.
 1993 The factory is acquired by the ABB group.
 1950 until 1999 oil transformers production.
Zaragoza  1981 dry-type transformer production started.
(1981-1999 two different production lines: oil and dry)

 1993 Manufacturing of the first transformers for


windmill farms.
 2000 Dry-type transformers Focus Factory.
 2004 The first class H dry-type vacuum cast coil
transformer is manufactured: hi-T Plus transformers.
 2005 First 52 kV insulation cast coil transformer
manufactured worldwide.
 2009 ABB in Zaragoza successfully manufactured the
first 72.5 kV prototype: HiDry72 transformers.
 2011 New products launching: EcoDry transformers.
 2012 2 x 25 MVA,72.5 kV manufactured and delivered for
Fontenova Stadium, Salvador, Brasil.

Metro and tram projects in whole Turkey

Urban subestation
World Cup 2014 Arena Fonte Nova stadium in
Salvador de Bahía, Brazil
 The new building includes a new indoor substation
where two dry transformers will be located under the
access-tier to the stadium.
 2 units, 25 MVA HiDry72 transformers, 69,000 / 13,500 –
11,900 V, provided with a dry OLTC (+4/-12 x 1.25%)
placed at the restructured World Cup 2014 stadium in
Salvador de Bahía, Brazil, to supply energy during the
matches.

Solar
UCEA de Sus solar farm, Romania

 Ucea de Sus Solar Park is a large thin-film


photovoltaic (PV) power system, built on a 200 ha
plot of land located in Ucea, Romania.
 The solar park is expected to supply around
115 GWh of electricity per year, enough to power
some 126,000 average homes.
 68 units, 1000 kVA three winding solar inverter
dry-type transformers, 20 kV / 2 x 0.35 kV.

King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, Saudi
Arabia
 ABB contributes with the restructuring project of KAIA
Airport in Jeddah (third largest air facility in Saudi
Arabia).
 70/80 million passengers a year, using the three existing
runways.

distribution up to 2,000 kVA, provided with metalic
enclosure IP21 and copper / copper widings and energy

Chlorine Electrolysis project for ANWIL, Poland

 ANWIL SA, is one of the largest chemical companies in


Poland.

 ABB, through the project: "Chlorine Electrolysis system", will


replace the current oil inmersed transformers (3 x 30 MVA)
for new vacuum cast coil (VCC) dry-type ones.

 9 units, 11,000 – 13,200 kVA – AN/AF

 Transformers designed for large rectifiers with


strong harmonic content.
