Introduction of WDS

The primary purpose of windows development services (WDS) is to provide a simplified method of
deploying windows operating systems from network.

You can use WDS to install and configure Microsoft windows operating systems remotely on computers
that are preboot execution environment (PXE) enabled.

A PXE client computer may not have an operating system, but it has capability to boot to the network.

GPO – application deployment for msi packages.

SCCM- System Center Configuration Managers.

OS, OS + Apps + Drivers Image, configuration changes to OS and applications, uses WDS and WSUS.
