o Conducted field observations then planned & executed a phased redesign of Buildium’s
reporting functionality from its overall interaction model down to the specific content
of its 50+ individual, customizable reports. Usability testing validated each phase.
o Coached junior teammates in research, design, & evaluation, especially usability testing.
Lead UX researcher & design evaluator for multiple projects involving email/productivity
applications for Symbian & Windows mobile devices.

Human Factors Engineer (Contractor) 9/06 – 9/07
…is the world’s leading consumer robot company. Their Defense & Security division was sold in 2016.
o Guided a multi-disciplinary team through UCD to completely redesign the control system
for the PackBot, a rugged military robot. My in-depth user interviews uncovered insights
at odds with project assumptions. After realignment, I proceeded with UI design, head-up
display & hand-controller selection, hand-controller mappings, hardware integration with
the infantry warrior, & iterative usability testing. Oversaw implementation.
- Patent: Control System for a Remote Vehicle. U.S. Patent 7,843,431, issued November 30, 2010.
o Top Secret & Home Robot (i.e. – Roomba) departments often requested my consultation.
My A/B usability study allowed the CEO to conclusively decide between competing
advertisement/revenue strategies. Subsequently, the CEO extended my engagement to
include an additional usability study & consultation on their website’s design.
Found, interviewed, & field observed multiple physicians to gain insights into their
motivations, goals, & needs surrounding Continuing Medical Education (CME). Also,
performed competitive analysis on CME websites. The uncovered insights as well as my
personas & scenarios were used as the foundation to redesign a client’s CME website.
