4 Rationale for the This design project is a continuation of Plant Design Project I. It is important to
inclusion of course in the integrate their chemical engineering skills and knowledge obtained in previous years
program of their study by designing a chemical plant. This course will help engineers to take up
challenges in designing and evaluating the chemical process plants.

9 Objectives 1. To integrate advanced chemical engineering skills and knowledge in designing a
cost-effective and environmentally friendly process plant.
2. To expose students to work in teams, develop coordination and
communication skills.
