AMENDMENT TO ACTING SUPERINTENDENT CONTRACT

This Amendment to Acting Superintendent Contract (“Contract”) made this 20th day of November, 2017
(“Effective Date”), is entered into by and between South Middleton School District (“District”) and Bruce M.
Deveney (“Acting Superintendent”).

WHEREAS, District and Acting Superintendent entered into a Contract effective August 21, 2017
which limited the Acting Superintendent’s services to four (4) days per week;

WHEREAS, in light of the Acting Superintendent’s increased duties, the parties desire to increase his
services provided;

WHEREAS, the parties now desire to amend, pursuant to Paragraph 16 of the Contract, the term and
compensation provisions of the Agreement.

NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants contained herein and intending to be
legally bound, the parties agree as follows:

1. Amended Terms.

a. Paragraph 1(B). Paragraph 1(B) of the Contract authorizes the Acting Superintendent to provide
services up to four (4) days per week. The parties mutually agree to now authorize the Acting
Superintendent to work up to five (5) days per week, effective November 10, 2017.

b. Paragraph 5. Paragraph 5 of the Contract establishes a per diem compensation rate for four (4)
days per week. Consistent with the above amendment, the per diem rate shall be paid to the
Acting Superintendent for up to five (5) days per week, regardless of the number of hours
worked in any day.

2. Other. All other terms and conditions of the Contract not in conflict with this Amendment shall remain
in full force and effect. This Amendment, together with the Contract, expresses the complete agreement
between the parties regarding the subject matter hereof and supersedes any discussions, correspondence,
or other written or oral communications between Acting Superintendent and District regarding such
matters.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this Amendment as of the Effective Date.
