About the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority


The Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority’s (IPEA) roles and functions prescribed
in the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Act 2017 include:

 providing advice to parliamentarians and their staff on travel expenses, allowances, and
related expenses
 monitoring parliamentarians’ use of travel expenses, allowances, and related expenses
 administering travel expenses, allowances, and related expenses, including processing
these claims
 reporting on and auditing work expenses.

About you
IPEA is seeking an experienced self-motivated professional to lead the delivery of its
Information Communication Technology (ICT) arrangements. As the ICT Advisor, you will
provide day-to-day ICT support, and oversee updates to existing technical solutions and the
development and implementation of new solutions.

You are experienced in:


 communicating effectively and building relationships
 providing support to business areas on ICT related products
 procuring, developing and implementing ICT related services
 managing a range of ICT systems
 writing and updating ICT policies and procedures
 interpreting and meeting ICT security requirements in an APS agency.

Duties
1. Support and manage IPEA’s ICT services (most ICT is arranged through an agreement
with the Department of Finance).
2. Engage with IPEA employees, other agencies and stakeholders to develop and maintain
strong working relationships.
3. Actively seek opportunities to improve existing systems and processes by applying
continuous improvement methodologies.
4. Develop business cases for new ICT projects.
5. Procure new ICT related services and/or updates to existing services, including:
- establishing, reviewing, renewing and extending contracts
- tracking supplier performance against contract requirements
- managing vendor-related risks, issues and negotiations.
6. Write briefing material and ministerial submissions.

Qualifications
Desirable
Relevant ICT related qualifications may be advantageous.
