Hazard statements
H302 - Harmful if swallowed
H315 - Causes skin irritation
H317 - May cause an allergic skin reaction
H318 - Causes serious eye damage
H334 - May cause allergy or asthma symptoms or breathing difficulties if inhaled
H335 - May cause respiratory irritation
Precautionary Statements
P261 - Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapours/spray
P280 - Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection
P305 + P351 + P338 - IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and
easy to do. Continue rinsing
P310 - Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor
P304 + P340 - IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing
P342 + P311 - If experiencing respiratory symptoms: Call a POISON CENTER or doctor
Additional information
No information available.
Inhalation Remove to fresh air. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration. If
symptoms persist, call a doctor.
Skin contact Immediately flush skin with water and rinse skin with soap and water for at least 5-10
minutes. Use lukewarm water if possible. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Get
medical attention if redness does not disappear.
Eye contact Important! Immediately rinse cautiously with tempered water for at least 15 minutes.
Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Get medical
attention.
Ingestion Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Get medical attention.
4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Inhalation: Inhalation of dust may cause respiratory irriation, allergy or asthma symptoms.
Skin contact: Contact with skin and especially wet skin causes severe irritation. Prolonged exposure may as well cause an
allergic dermatitis.
Eye contact: Causes severe irritation with flood of tears and pain and strong redness and swelling of the eye. Risk of damage
to the conjunctiva and cornea.
Ingestion: May cause irritation of the mouth, throat, esophagus, and stomach including severe pain.

4.3. Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treat symptomatically
Respiratory protection In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive
or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device.
mg/kg
OECD Test No. 403: Acute Rat Inhalation >2.14 LC50 mg/l Aerosol
Inhalation Toxicity Maximum attainable
concentration
Skin corrosion/irritation
Irritating to skin.
Carcinogenicity
Animal studies have not shown any carcinogenic potential.
Reproductive toxicity
There is no fertility study with phthalic anhydride available. No effects on reproductive organs were however observed in a oral
carcinogenicity study in rats and mice.
Aspiration hazard
No hazard from product as supplied.
The substance does not adsorb to suspended solids and sediment based upon the Koc which indicates a high mobility in soil.
Contaminated packaging
Contaminated packaging materials must be disposed of in the same manner as the product.
Other Information
Waste codes should be assigned by the user based on the application for which the product was used.
