A POSITION PAPER ON THE K-12 PROGRAM

INTRODUCTION

The k-12 program basic education covers 13 years of basic education with the following
key stages;kindergarten to grade 3;grade 4 to 6;grade 7 to 10(junior high school);11 to 12 (senior
high school) to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills to evelop life long
learners.

It is under the department of education which is the officer and members of the national
employees union of the department of education(DEPED) to express their full support and the
implementation of the senior highschool program.

Since 2011,the department of education has made the historic implementation of shifting
from the 10 year basic education curriculum to the kinder to 12 program,the added two senior
high track aims to equip you the knowledge and skills that will help you prepare better for your
chosen path be at college,work,and business.

In a historic moment for advocates of educational egquity ,president benigno III approved
republic Act(RA) 10533,signing into law the k-12 program on may 5,2013.

k-12 program gives more challenging to pursue education and it is not really improves
every student but to act that each opportunities are wasted and gives as the student a lack of
interest.

COUNTER ARGUMENT

The k-12 program is expanding basic education by adding two years to a 10 years cycle
which can be a solution to yearly deteriorating quality of education and e nhanced basic
education in the Philippines in order for graduates to be easily employed and it aims to meet the
standards required for professional .proponents of year –round school cite multitracking allows
more cost-effective use of school facilities (classroom,space,computer labs,libraries,media
resources) as well as staff resources(education specialists such as physical education .in this
program students will get supply and makes the school or district essential to the needs.
MY ARGUMENT

ARGUMENT#1. the unemployment rates would plummet,because k-12 program makes

highschool graduates eligible for many jobs that previously required twoyear- college degree.

ARGUMENT#2.Opponents of year-aroundschool cite;year around shool shows little to

no academic improvement .as if timed with the opening of classes, new legal challenges have
sprung up against the k-12 program .those who have no means to pursue more education should
be afforded the same level.

ARGUMENT#3.Parents had the rights to consider settling disagreements regarding their

child’s special education program through voluntary mediation. a process through which parties
seek mutually agreeable solutions and also their low-income of a parents .

CONCLUSION

k-12 program is where others disagreeableness which is it means to them

there was an additional time,years to spend so that they lack interest and wasted
opportunities.it also affects our parents on what they are going to consider to their childs
future. having the k-12 program also means of additional time and years so that they need
also to spend more time,money and efforts which means to them a wasting of time.
