tongue twisters and sing songs, paying
attention to pronunciation, rhythm and
intonation
Able to read tongue twisters correctly.
1. Teacher introduces tongue twisters to
pupils.
2. Pupils try to read tongue twister slow
and fast.
3. Pupils are put into group and given
tongue twister.
4. Pupils line-up and the group leader
whispers to pupil behind and so on.
5. The last pupils recite the tongue twister
to whole class.
6. A group with the most correct words
wins.

Majority of pupils are able to recite the
tongue twisters with correct pronunciation.
Cooperation between pupils were lacking
especially between boys and girls. Group
activities which involves both genders
should be done more in the future.

2.2.4 Able to apply dictionary skills:
locate words
Able to find all words given in dictionary
1. Pupils are given a text about spending
wisely.
2. Pupils read by themselves silently and
then aloud with teacher’s guidance.
3. Teacher call out a few words from the
text for pupils to search the meanings.
4. Pupils look for the meaning in the
dictionary.
5. Teacher guides pupils on how to use
dictionary correctly.
6. Pupils write the words and meanings in
their exercise book.

Reading Text, Dictionary
Pupils were having hard time to search for
words due to lack of memory on the
alphabet’s sequence.
At the end of the lesson, pupils were able
to use the dictionary by themselves
although they took a long time to search
for words.

1. Pupils are introduced with a pie chart
labelled needs, wants and savings.
2. Teacher introduces the meaning of each
part of the chart.
3. Pupils write what they think belong to
any of the groups.
4. Teacher checks the suitability of all the
samples labelled by pupils.
