General

1. As per CA the submitted sections fall

under overlay. So, the P&P will be concurred
alter finalization of pavement design.

2. The drawings for profile of service roads &

drains, junction, road signs and markings shall
be submitted as separate drawing and shall
not be included in the P&P of main
carriageway.

3. The width of paved carriageway is !Om

whereas the width of Minor/Major
bridges/ROB is 16m and VUP is 13m.So tapers
in paved portions shall be provided.

4. The approaches of ROB and other alliance

new CD structures will be based on approvals
by Railways as well finalization of structure
design and drawings.

5. The tapers at Major junctions shall be as

per IRC:SP:73-2015

6. The details of RoW and earthworks shall be

shown in the plan.

7. The bus bay locations based on joint site

visit shall be proposed.

8. There is mismatch in Type of structures with

reference to the CA proposals at km 166.468,
km 169.605 and km 170.404. Any deviation as
per site shall be bring to the notice of authority
for approval.
9. It was noticed that there is filling of about
290mm on the existing retained bridges which
needs to be justified.

10. The Existing road levels and the original

ground levels (centre) are missing between
km 94 and km 96. Please indicate the same in
profile.

Typical Cross Sections:

11. TCS schedules shall be submitted and any

deviation needs to be justified.

12. As per cl:2.5 {b) of CA the earthen shoulder

shall be with lSOmm thick compacted layer of
granular material. Please modify the TCS
accordingly

13. In general drain Slopes shall be 2: 1 and

incase the slopes steeper than 2: !suitable soil
retention in slopes shall be proposed.

14. The design TCS showing service road along

with schedules near ROB location needs to be
developed.

Horizontal & Vertical alignment:

15. As per cl.1.1 of the CA the project highway

shall follow the existing alignment whereas the
new main highway has been proposed on RHS
of existing road between km 94.00 to km
94.800. Please clarify with justification.
16. The tapers in main carriageway (at ROB &
Bridges/YUP/PUP) as well as tapers at slip
roads shall be as per IRC:SP:73-2017 between
km 94 to km 95.140.

17. As per Clause 2.9.6(ii) of IRC:SP:73-2015,on

two lane roads normally intermediate sight
distance (ISD) should be available. Sight
distance f-or ISD are designed for a speed
of80Kmph at km 94.176 & km 95.390, where
as in curve table design speeds are given as
100Kmph. Please clarify the proposals with
justification.

18. At km 170.800 & km 171,300 the sight

distance has been designed for ISD to a speed
of 80kmph due to retained bridges. So, the
speed limit boards in this section shall be for
80kmph and in curve table also design speed
shall be mentioned as 80kmph.

19. At HIP Chainage km 95.231 the Super

elevation Provided is 5%, but as per Clause
2.9.3 super elevation shall be limited to 7
percent, if radius of curve is less than the
desirable minimum. So super elevation needs
to be revised.

20. For Cross road at km 165.745 the tapers

are not as per Fig. 3.6 of IRC:SP:73-2015. So
please change accordingly

21. At km 94.!SO(ROB Location) the Entry and

Exit Arrangement should be as per Fig:2.1 A
ofIRC:SP:73-2015.
22. As per cl.2.3 of CA the broken back curves
between km 98.150 to km 98.500 and
between km 171 to km 171.500 shall be
replaced by single curve. Please revise the
horizontal alignment.

23. As per CA there are no deviation in design

speeds where at the km 173.486 the curve has
been designed for a speed of 6Skmph.Please
redesign for the design speeds as per
IRC:SP:73-2015.

24. Submlt the design and drawings duly vetted

by the new safety consultant for the review.
