How to mark animations as legacy?

I know this question has been asked before, but I am new to Unity and I am using Unity 5.3.1. Not any one was
 asked for Unity 5.3.1.

Its simple! fist, press the animation you want to convert in the Project tab.

Then press the Rig tab in the Inspector and press Legacy in the Animation Type dropdown ;)

Remember to Apply the changes you have made ;D
