Special Abilities
Commander - Friendly Faction models can use this model's CMD stat when making
command checks.
Gunfighter - This model may make ranged attacks while in melee, but can only target
Circle Orboros models within its melee range while doing so. This model gains 0.5" melee range (if it
Legion of Everblight
doesn't already have a melee weapon).

Trollbloods Unyielding - This model gains an ARM bonus when it is engaging another model.
Minions Virtuoso - This model can make both melee and ranged attacks during the same
Blindwater Congregation combat action. When this model makes its initial attacks, it can make both melee and
Thornfall Alliance ranged attacks.
Multi-Fire (★Attack) - If this attack hits, then afterwards you may make another
attack for free with this weapon that ignores ROF. And if that 2nd attack hits you get
a 3rd, and if the 3rd hits you get a 4th and final one. However, each attack must
target the same model as the last attack or another model within 2" of it.
Cavalry - All Cavalry come with a stack of standard special rules - most notably
Newbie Page Ride-By attacks & Impact attacks.

Army List Builders Destor Thane in a nutshell
Army List Archive Basically, the Destor Thane is awesome. Being heavy cavalry, he's fairly durable and very
Theme Forces quick. His MAT and RAT allow him to hit well, and his charge threat is a nice 13" with a
Glossary of Abbreviations Lance attack and a Lance Cannon shot.

Since he's heavy cavalry, he gets +2 to hit on a charge (with his Lance—it doesn't work for
Gunfighter), so between that and the Lance, it's tempting to make him charge straight at
Rules for Editors whatever you want to kill most. You can do that, but he'll likely die next turn. If you really
Pages which need work need him to, he can tie up a pesky solo (or even a light warjack) for a turn or two.
How can I help?
How to Edit He's generally better at smashing things with his lance, running up and camping on
Donate objectives, and making a mess of targets (especially infantry) at range. Multi-Fire and his
high RAT are the bane of infantry models.

Vyros1 - Inviolable Resolve can boost ARM up to 21 in melee
Ravyn - Snipe and her feat can mean four shots up to 14" with RAT 9 on aiming.
Little will survive that.
Ossyan - His feat makes Multi-Fire deadly to the point of threatening 'casters
Stormfall Archers, Houseguard Halberdiers, HouseGuard Riflemen - these units have
low CMD, so benefit greatly from his high CMD and Commander.
Thyron - Storm Rager is good on amazing solos?
Garryth - for some odd reason, Garryth has pretty low CMD. Go go Commander!
Dawnguard Scyir - both the Scyir and its marshaled myrmidon may charge over you
Banshee, House Shyeel Magister, Arcantrik Force Generator, Rahn - can knockdown
targets to improve the number of Multi-Fire shots you get

You may not use Multi-Fire when you charge
You may not benefit from Ravyn's Swift Hunter while using Multi-Fire, since it is
not a normal attack
You can only bring two in your army

Tips & Tricks


Using Ride By Attack with Multi-Fire allows you to move up, fire, then move back
out of retaliation range. Best done when you hit on 6's or better.
If you have 3-4 targets in range and feel safe where you currently are, make sure you
take your aiming bonus to improve Multi-Fire.
It's often a good idea to make the Thane run 16" first turn, then sacrifice his
movement to gain the aiming bonus and Multi-Fire on the second turn.
If you can get him onto an outside flag early, he can be hard to remove

The mathematics of Multi-Fire


The Multi-Fire special attack gives an unpredictable number of attacks, but how many can
we expect to actually get against different DEF targets?
If we assume that all shots will be against targets with the same DEF, and that the
probability of hitting one of them is p, then the probabilities of different number of hits are:

1 (1-p)p
2 (1-p)p^2
3 (1-p)p^3
4 p^4

And the expected number of hits becomes E = (1-p)(p + 2p^2 + 3p^3)+4p^4. For those
uninitiated into the deeper mysteries of mathematics, here are some concrete numbers:

This table illustrates the importance of getting the aiming bonus whenever possible, as the
expected damage output when hitting on 5s compared to hitting on 7s more than doubles.
Also, the Multi-Fire attack is probably not worth using if you have to roll 7 or higher, since
you are unlikely to hit more than once or twice. At that point, consider charging something.
