PRE SE N T
• President of School Site Council- (present): leads School Site Council meetings/
agendas, revised the mission and vision of the school, reviews Title I budget, LCAP,
disaggregated student data, collaborates with English Language Advisory Committees
(ELAC) and develops a a Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).

• English Language Leadership Team- (present): My work on the ELLT involves assisting
the progress of English Learners, analyzing progress data, review processes of
classification and reclassification of English Learners and develop teaching strategies
to be communicated back to my school site.

• Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Team (present): My work on the MTSS Team
involves working at the district level to develop a comprehensive framework that
focuses on CSSS, core instruction and a whole-child approach to learning. Along side
my site administration, student- support staff and special education department, we
are working toward the aligning current site and district initiates to ensure a more
individualize approach to learning.
• Administrative School Culture Team (2017): Works with the Principal, Vice Principal and
School Counselor to make the school culture more visible and engage grade level
teams through campus beautification projects.

• School Site Council (2014): Member of the School Site Council where I reviewed
budget, funding, student data, LCAP and helped make decisions on school school
improvement.

• Grade level data team (2015-present): works with grade level to create common
assessments, analyze student data and adjust instruction as needed.

• District Level Mathematics Data Team (2016): worked throughout the year at the
district level to create curriculum-based common assessments using CCSS and the
mathematics framework.

• After School Tutoring Program-Mathematics (2014): Ran an after school tutoring


program aimed at closing the achievement gap in mathematics by building
foundational mathematics skills for students in grades first-second. The program ran
for six weeks and students learned core mathematics concepts through hands-on
mathematics materials.

• After School Tutoring Program STEM (2016): Collaborated with a fourth grade
colleague to ran an after school enrichment program for low-income, foster youth and
low achieving students in grades 3rd-6th. The program ran for six weeks and
introduced students to aerospace and astronomy using NASA’s Beginning
Engineering, Science and Technology (BEST) curriculum.

• Summer Enrichment Program Fine Arts (2017) : Taught a summer enrichment course
at the district level, which was designed to teach students in grades third to fourth
techniques in fine arts. Students worked with different art mediums and learned about
masters such as Picasso, Warhol, Lichtenstein, and Van Gogh.

• Dancing Feet (2017): Works with colleagues to bring the ball room dancing program
Dancing Feet to students at Quartz Hill. After school, students are taught four dancing
routines for competition in the spring.

• Grade level project-based learning lead: Designed four projects a year using
standards-based lessons. Each project lasted six week with student presentations as
the culminating activity. I lead my team in implementing projects, designing lessons,
and gathering supplies.
• Grade level data team: Worked within my grade-level team to analyze individual
student data, create common assessments and adjust instruction as needed.

• Designed and implemented a Hands-on mathematics professional development:


Collaborated with a colleague to hold a professional development designed to assist
teachers in gaining an understanding of a hands-on conceptual approach to
mathematics. Teachers learned how to effectively employ mathematics manipulatives
to increase student achievement.

• Project-based learning cross grade level collaboration: Collaborated across grade


levels to design and implement standards-based projects.

• Community outreach & partnerships to enhance curriculum and student learning :


Partnered with NASA Education Outreach, Antelope Valley Astronomy Club, AVC,
Prime Desert Woodland Preserve, Tarzana Treatment Centers, SAGE Planetarium,
Desert Punch Bowl, Museum of Art and History and the British Museum to enhance
student learning through project-based learning.
