# Problem 4

RESERVOIR MECHANISMS

## COMBINATION DRIVE RESERVOIR PERFORMANCE

A large field is subdivided into smaller pattern areas for reservoir management purposes. In this problem, we study the X-26 pattern.
Tabulated below is the historical production and injection data for the pattern, which contains approximately 39.1 MMSTB of OOIP.
Note that this data is complete for the period from May 1980 to Aug 1996 but some of the monthly data may be hidden.
At the bottom of the sheet are relationships that can be used to estimate fluid properties as a function of pressure.

## Use this to find:

1) What has been the pattern performance with respect to voidage replacement ratio
2) What is the implication relative to flux into or out of the pattern
2b) Calculate the pattern flux by material balance. Why does this differ from the voidage - replacement ratio?
3) Is there any evidence of MI Production response
4) Explain the MI / RMI performance
5) Why does the GOR do what it does, if you have time, what is the sat of Gas at the end assuming no flux
