Abstract

The research was purposely conducted with its main focus of determining

evaluating the quality of services provided to some of the victims of violence and

abuse among the women and children and the its implications to the status of

welfare and justice in the City of Valenzuela. Based on the Section 40 of

Republic Act number 9262, the programs and services within its provisions were

solely assessed according to the satisfaction level of each of the respondents.

The variables measured and analyzed in this study include the socio-

demographic profiles of the respondents as it is essential to learn the social and

economic status of each of them and the programs and services subject to the

R.A. 9262 the is being implemented by City Government of Valenzuela. The

study follows a descriptive method design that shows the factuality, explanation

and interpretation of the variables based on the data gathered through the

research course by using survey questionnaire type research instruments. The

research locality of the study were the selected barangays in Valenzuela City

based base on where the most of the respondents resides as all of their names

and personal information were selected and gathered from the records of City

Social Welfare and Development Office of the City Government as well as the

Philippine National Police-Valenzuela Headquarters. All of the respondents that

were selected in this study were able to evaluate and give their preferences to

programs they received for the time they were the victim of violence that was

ranged from physically, emotionally, mentally and economic abuses. All of the

information needed in this study were given by the respondents and was

carefully analyzed based on proper method that was used and formulated

findings that was interpreted to fit with exact result of the conducted assessment

on the programs and services provided to the victims. Conclusions based on the

findings were formulated which determined the satisfaction of the respondents

were marginally showed unsatisfied result but with the accepted contentment on

the services they had received and therefore wants some improvement in every

aspect of the delivery of services in each of the responsible categories and areas

of concern with the accordance to the need of a woman who is violence and

abuse victim. Proposed policy and programs are recommended but still subject

for further analysis and improvement but a chance of being treated as particular

solutions to the problems of the victims mentioned in this study is in high

expectations with the objective of giving an effective comprehensive, efficient,

fast and widespread quality of government service and programs to the VAWC

victims.
