Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson was known as the “King of
Pop”. He was born on August 29, 1958 and
died on June 25, 2009 of a drug overdose before
he had launched his comeback tour in 2009.
When Michael was a kid he was in a group
called the Jackson 5, which had consisted of all
his brothers; Jackson had been the lead singer.
He then went onto becoming a best selling solo
singer, songwriter and dancer. His career was a
worldwide success from getting to number 1 on
three of his albums.
Chris Brown
Chris Brown was born on May 15, 1989, in
Tappahannock, Virginia. When Chris was 13 he
was discovered by Hitmission Records, when
they had went to his dad’s gas station while
searching for new talent. This interaction
eventually led to Brown getting a record deal
with Def Jam Recordings. Christopher is known
for his smooth voice, amazing dance moves, and
his lovely charm. Brown had enjoyed singing in
the church choir and was inspired by other
amazing, popular artists such as Sam Cooke,
Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson.
The Inspiration
Everyone has always been in awe young Chris’s dancing ability,
especially when he would glide across the stage so perfect as if he
were Michael Jackson. His moves and vocals are the things that
made him one of the artists that a lot of people compared to
Michael Jackson.

“Michael Jackson is the reason why I do music and why I am an

entertainer,” Brown said after his idol’s death. “I am devastated
by this great loss, and I will continue to be humbled and inspired
by his legacy.” “My prayers are with his family. Michael will be
deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Poem Interpretation
In Human Nature, Michael Jackson is talking
about how some actions that others do are just
human nature. He says that if someone asks why
someone does them a certain way or how they do
it, to just tell them that it is human nature. By
saying that it is human nature it means that they
don’t really do it intentionally, they would just
do it because they don’t think about what they
are about to do and just do it because it’s the first
thing that pops into their head.

Song Interpretation
Chris talks about how he is trying to be with
someone else but can’t because of the girl that he
was with before. He explains how the girl that he
is with isn’t his ex so he doesn’t really want to be
with her but with his ex. The reason that he isn’t
with his ex is because she broke up with him when
he wanted to still be with her, and he doesn’t know
if she still likes him. This makes him want to blame
her because he keeps trying to see his present girl in
his past girl.
