Science Literacy
Science is derived from the Latin word scientia whose literal meaning is knowledge.
Science is a product and process that can not be separated. "Real Science is both product and
process, inseparably Joint".Science is a science related to the state of nature around us, both
new discoveries in the field of science, new theories put forward by experts and other
environmental change circumstances.Science as a process is a step taken by scientists to
conduct an investigation in order to seek explanations of natural phenomena. From this it
appears that the fundamental characteristic of Science is the quantification of the meaning of
natural phenomena can take the form of quantity.

Natural science studies the physical and non-human aspects of the Earth and its
natural surroundings. The natural sciences form the basis for applied science, both
distinguished from social sciences, humanities, theology, and the arts. From this angle,
"natural science" can be an alternative meaning to biology, involved in biological processes,
and distinguished from physical science (related to the underlying physical and chemical laws
of the universe).The degree of certainty of natural science is relatively high considering the
concrete object, because this natural science is commonly also called the exact science.

Mathematics is not regarded as a natural science, but is used as a provider of tools /

devices and frameworks used in the natural sciences. The term natural science is also used to
recognize "science" as a discipline that follows the scientific method, in contrast to natural
philosophy.Science is often referred to as IPA (Natural Science). What exactly is the function
of science. Science is now beginning to be applied in teaching and learning activities in
schools. Can be seen with the existence of some exclusive activities that discussed about
science.

Such as Exhibition Activities KIR (Scientific Work of Youth). Here the teenagers are
trying to make a new discovery in the field of science, social and others.Science also plays an
important role as a technological progress milestone. So that science and technology can not
be separated. Science advanced, teknologipun come forward. That is probably the appropriate
parable for science and technology.While the definition of technology is something that can
make people more easy and simple in doing the job.

As an example of this growing computer technology, proven to simplify and speed up

one's work. With the computer and the technology, now we no longer need to go abroad to
obtain information about events that occur in other countries here we simply go to the cafe
and find the information on the internet.

The development of science and technology (science and technology) is quite rapid
now has become a daily reality even a demands of society that can not be negotiable. The
main purpose of science and technology development is the change of life of the future of
human better, easier, cheaper, fast and safe.

In its application, science automatically generates what is called technology. Science

and technology are two things that can not be separated, then we are familiar with the term
science and technology (Science and Technology). Science is theoretical and unformed while
technology is practical and shaped. In essence, science is learned to develop and strengthen
human existence on earth. Technology was created to alleviate and liberate human beings
from the difficulties of his life. What had been done by human hands has been replaced by
machinery so it is more effective and efficient.But in its application, science always has a
negative and destructive bias. Nowadays people are trapped in the culture of consumerism as
a result of human dependence on technology.

The rapid development of the world of science and technology has brought
tremendous benefits to the progress of human civilization. The types of work that previously
required considerable physical capability, now relatively can be replaced by automatic
machine tools. The robotic work system has transformed the power of human muscle with
amazing magnification and acceleration. Likewise with the discovery of new formulations of
various computer capacity, as if it was able to shift the position of the human brain ability in
various fields of science and human activity. In short, the progress of science and technology
that we have achieved today has truly been recognized and felt to provide many conveniences
and comfort for human life.

For today's society, science and technology has been a religion. Science and
technology development is considered as the solution of the existing problems. While people
even worship science and technology as a liberator who will free them from the confines of
the world's fineness. Science and technology is believed to give humanity health, happiness
and immortality. The contribution of science and technology to civilization and human
welfare can not be denied. But man can not also deceive himself against the fact that science
and technology bring misfortune and misery for man. In a modern modern civilization, too
often humans are shocked by the disillusionment of the negative impacts of science and
technology on the life of mankind.

Even if science and technology can reveal all the veils of the secrets of nature and life,
does not mean science and technology is synonymous with the truth. Because science and
technology is only capable of displaying reality. Humane truth must be more than an
objective reality. The truth also has to include element of justice. Of course, science and
technology does not recognize humanitarian morality, therefore science and technology can
never be the standard of truth or solution of humanitarian problems.The relationship of
science development to the development in the field of technology can be said to have
interrelations. For example, if humans had never found iron content from the earth, then now
surely there are no items made of iron. Examples: Computers, knives, even iron spoons. And
vice versa, if the development of technology is fast, then it is certain the development of
science when it is growing rapidly as well.

So, it can be concluded that the development of science science is very influential on
technology logging technology. And in the absence of the science of technology that
accompanies science can not make progress. There are many opinions about the development
of science and technology in Indonesia today. Like, some say that science and technology
logging in Indonesia has advanced, because Indonesia has often brought home the gold
medals and silver from the race of science and physics both asia and international. But there
is also a saying that the development of science and technology in Indonesia today as in
children tirikan, meaning the achievements we have achieved as ignored by the ministers of
the State.

The development of science and technology in Indonesia called Pula many parties
have not been so encouraging. Ironically, our natural wealth is much exploited by the ability
of mastering science and technology owned by foreign nations.The impact of the
development of science and technology on society and nature of Indonesia are contradictory.
That is, the impact on society can be positive, but its impact on nature has a nagative effect.
 The impact of the development of science and technology on the people of Indonesia
is very beneficial for the survival and advancement of this State of Indonesia. Like, the
development of public facilities and infrastructure, easier to obtain information, faster travel,
and others. Although, the development of science and technology has a positive impact on the
people of Indonesia. However, the impact of the development of science and technology on
the nature of Indonesia is very bad. Because, without realizing human beings have been
exploiting nature on a large scale to improve the development of science and technology. Yet
by doing large-scale exploitation and in a short time, just as we are wasting our natural
resources.

At the end of the word we can conclude that technological progress is something that
we can not avoid in this life, because technology progress will go according to progress of
science / Science. The development of technology and science is very necessary. Every
innovation is created to provide positive benefits for human life. Provide many conveniences,
as well as a new way of doing human activities. Especially in the field of technology, society
has enjoyed many benefits brought by the innovations that have been generated in the last
decade. That's because of the cooperation and balance between Science and Technology. But
humans can not fool themselves into the fact that technology brings many negative effects to
humans.Rapid Progress Current Because Science And Technology In Various Fields Of
Human Life May Not Happen If There Is No Linkage And Balance Between Science And
