Objective: Understands repertoire of words necessary for this social practice of the language (word games).
Instructor’s role:
− Read the following definitions of word games with a clear tone of voice and stress the bold word.
1. A tongue twister is a group of words difficult to pronounce.
2. A crossword is a puzzle that normally takes the form of a square or a rectangular grid of white and black shaded squares.
3. Hangman is a game in which one player chooses a word whose letters are guessed at by another player.
4. A bingo is a game of chance, each player receives a set of numbers, the player marks off the numbers in his set against
numbers which are selected at random and announced by a caller.
5. A spelling bee is a game in which people spell words.
