(Kidnapping)

THE GRAND JURY CHARGES:

Beginning on or about February 13, 2018, and continuing thereafter up to and

including February 14, 2018, in the District of South Carolina and elsewhere, the

Defendant, THOMAS LAWTON EVANS JR., a person who had attained the age of 18

years and who was not an individual described in Title 18, United States Code, Section

1201(g)(1)(B)(ii), did knowingly and unlawfully seize, confine, kidnap, abduct and carry

away a person who had not attained the age of 18 years, and did hold for

ransom, reward and otherwise, and did willfully transport in interstate commerce,

that is, from the state of South Carolina to the state of Alabama;

In violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1201(a)(1), and (g).

COUNT 2
(Transportation of a Minor to Engage
in Sexual Activity)

Beginning on or about February 13, 2018, and continuing thereafter up to and

including February 14, 2018, in the District of South Carolina and elsewhere, the

Defendant, THOMAS LAWTON EVANS JR., did knowingly transport who had not

attained the age of 18 years, in interstate commerce, with the intent that engage in

sexual activity for which a person can be charged with a criminal offense;

In violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2423(a).

COUNT 3
(Aggravated Sexual Abuse)

Beginning on or about February 13, 2018, and continuing thereafter up to and

including February 14, 2018, in the District of South Carolina and elsewhere, the

Defendant, THOMAS LAWTON EVANS JR., crossed a State line with the intent to

engage in a sexual act with a person, identified as who had not attained the age of

12 years, and did engage in such an act;

In violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2241(c).
