W
ednesday
evening,
parents,
teachers and
friends flooded the caf-
eteria at Felix J. Apple-
by School as the names
of over 75 students were
called for placing in
their respective catego-
ries at the schoolwide
science fair.
Showcasing their
research and science
skills, kindergarten
through eighth students
entered individual and
group projects to show
off what they learned.
The program hon-
ored students with first
through fourth place
ribbons, and students
who received high
recognition will move
on to the district level to
compete against all Palo
Verde Unified School
District students at next
month’s science fair.
Shaking the hands of
the students who were
present at the event,
eighth grade science
teacher Mrs. Iwai and AS THE SAYING GOES, “BIRDS OF  the same feather, flock together,” and for these five friends, winning 1st place awards was something spectacular.
Principal Karina De La
Pena made every stu-
dent feel special walking
across the stage.
Second grade stu-
dent Sophia Robinson
graced the stage quite
frequently, as she was
one of the students who
won in various catego-
ries; having entered two
individual projects, in
addition to help working
on a group project with
close peers.
