of masonry, bricks, woad, mud, melal or any olher material

"buiiding line" means thc line which is in rear of the strcel
nlignmcnl and up to which Ihe main wall of a building of
a land abutting on a slrcct or projected public slrecl may
lawfully exrend;
''b~~stee"means an area con~ainingland nor less than seven
hundred square melres in area occupicd by or Ibr (he

E,~plrrrraiion.-If any queslion arises as lo wlielher
pariicular area is or is nor a bmree, the Corporeiioa shall
dccide the question and ib dccision shall be final;
"by-laiv" means a by-law made by [he Corporation under
[his Act;
"carriage" means any wheeled vehicle, wilh springs or
olher appliances acting as springs, which is ordinarily used
for the conveyance OF human beings, and includes a jin-
rickshaw, cycle-rickshaw, bicycle or lricycle, but does not
include a penrnbulnlor or other form of vehiclc designed
for lhe conveyance of children:
"cart" mcans atly cart, hackney or whecled vehicle wilh or
wirhoul spring, which is not a carriage as defined in [his
seclion, and includcs a hand-cart, but does not include any
wheeled vehiclc which is propelled by mechanical power

having been disbursed were avai lablc for, and applicable lo,
the services or purposes to which [hey have been applicd

the aurhorily governing [he same;
( c ) to submil a repor1 ro the Corporation cvcry year and ironr
time lo lime on such examina~ionand scrutiny;

(6) The Municipal Accounls Commirtec may call for any book or
document relaring l o the accounts of rhc Corporalion under exzrnination
and may send for such olficcrs of Ihe Corporarion as it mdy consider
necessary for explaining any mavrer in connection wilh such
examinalion.
(7) The manner of transaction of business of the Municipal Accounls
Cornmilkc shall be such as may be determined by h e Corporation by
regulalions:
Provided that lhe persons nominated under clacse (b) of sub-section

CHAPTER 111
13. (1) Thc Corponrion shall have the following officers, namely:-- 0ficci-s of
