Lesson Plan in Entrepreneurship

CONTENT STANDARD: The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts,


underlying principles, and core competencies in Entrepreneurship.

PERFOMANCE STANDARD: The learner independently creates/provides a quality and


marketable product and/or service in Entrepreneurship.

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

a. define what is entrepreneurship,


b. distinguish an entrepreneur by knowing their characteristics,
c. relate entrepreneurship to everyday living,

III. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURE


A. Activities

Pre-activity: Picture Analysis

1. Picture clips (at least 4) of urban and rural flooding will be shown.
2. The students will be asked why flooding happens
3. Picture of human activities why flooding happens will be shown.
4. Students will be asked how we can help mother earth and avoid flooding
5. Picture of products that can help avoid flooding will be shown.

B. Analysis

1. Were the students able to identify causes of flooding?


2. Were the students able to determine entrepreneurial ways on how we can avoid
flooding?
3. Were the students able to determine relevance of entrepreneurship to his/her life?

C. Abstraction

The teacher will discuss:


a. what is entrepreneurship.

It is the process of discovering new ways of combining resources.

b. what is an entrepreneur

It originated from a French verb “entreprende” which means “to begin


something, undertake.”

It is defined as a person who practices the science of entrepreneurship.

Characteristics of an entrepreneur:
Passion & Motivation Is there something that you can work on over and
over again, without getting bored?
Calculated Risk-taker Risking time and money, ready to dive deep into
a future of uncertainty with planning.
Self-belief, Hard work & Enjoying what they do. They believe in
Disciplined Dedication themselves and are confident and dedicated to
their project.

customization that enhances their product and
satisfies client and market needs

D. Application / Drill

The facilitator will conduct a group activity:

1. The class will be divided into four (4) groups.


2. Each group will be given a Manila paper. In it are two (2) pictures, one (1)
famous local entrepreneur and one (1) ordinary person.
3. Each group will have ten (10) Meta cards. In it are different characteristics.
4. Match and post the corresponding Meta cards to the pictures in the Manila
paper.
5. Each group will be given ten (10) minutes to do the activity.
6. The group will stand in front of the class to present their output. Each member of
the group will be given one (1) minute, a total of five (5) minutes per group, to
explain to the class (why he/she thinks the characteristic he/she posted on the
picture matches the picture.

IV. ASSESSMENT
On a ½ sheet of paper, the students will be given a short modified True or False quiz.

Instruction: Write true if the statement is correct and right the correct answer if the statement
is false.

V. ASSIGNMENT/AGREEMENT
The student will be task to do an advance reading on the key concepts of common
competencies of an entrepreneurship so they may be able to write an assignment on a ½
sheet of paper.

1. Write and explain at least one (1) common competency of an entrepreneur.
