ANALYTICAL EXPOSITION (Teks analytical Exposition) merupakan teks yang

menjelaskan pemikiran terperinci penulis tentang sebuah kejadian atau peristiwa yang
ada di sekitar.

Communicative Purpose / Social Function (tujuan komunikatif) :

To analyze a topic and to persuade the reader or listener that something. (untuk
menganalisis topic atau bahasan tertentu/untuk mengajak pembaca atau pendengar
melakukan sesuatu atau tudak melakukan sesuatu)

Consist of three parts but it doesn’t mean three paragraph

 Thesis = (introduce topic/Memperkenalkan topik dan menunjukkan posisi
penulis
 Argument = biasanya menggunakan kata penghubung :
1. Firstly, Secondly, Thirdly….
2. Furthermore : (selanjutnya/lagipula/juga)
3. Moreover : (selain itu/lagi pula/tambahan lagi)
4. In addition/additionally (sebagai tambahan)
5. Therefore : (oleh karena itu)
6. As a result : (sebagai hasilnya)
7. Consequently : (akibatnya)
Argument terdiri atas :
- Point = main point of the arguments (pikiran utama sebuah pendapat)
- Elaboration = the development of the main point (pengembangan pendapat)
 Reiteration = pengulangan posisi penulis dan opininya/pandangan penulis

I personally believe . . .
 Therefore, my conclusion is that . . .

Thesis I personally think that English is the world’s most important language.
Why do I say that?
Argument 1 Firstly, English is an international language. It is spoken by many people
all over the world, either as a first or second language.

Argument 2 Secondly, English is also the key which opens doors to scientific and
technical knowledge, which is needed for the economic and politics
development of many countries in the world.
Argument 3 Thirdly, English is a top requirement of those seeking jobs. Applicants
who master either active or passive English are more favorable than those
who don’t.
Reorientation From the facts above, it is obvious that everybody needs to learn English
to greet the global era.
