ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the fraction of weight, size and type of
sediment, and organic C content found in Ujong Pacu River Krueng Geukueh
North Aceh for river utilization as aquaculture area in the field of fishery. This
research was conducted on September 15, 2016 at Ujong Pacu River Krueng
Geukueh River, North Aceh and analyzed at the Laboratory of the Faculty of
Marine, Malikussaleh University. The research method used was survey method
by determined sediment sampling station. This research has 4 stations with 3
repetitions. The results showed that the river Ujong Pacu River found a substrate
of sand and silt base and organic C content in the dominance into the lower class.
Percentage of sediment values at station I sediment of sand 89.07% 10.93%
sediment of mud, sediment value at station II sediment sand 96.80% sediment
mud 3.20%, sediment value at station III sand sediment 88.49% sediment mud
11.51%, sediment value at station IV sediment sand 95.11% of mud sediment
4.89%. The result of organic sediment C content at station I was 1.65%, station II
was 1.31%, station III about 2.00%, station IV about 0.74%. Based on the results
obtained based on the aspect of the sediment fraction and the Organic C content of
Ujong Pacu River suitabled to be a cultivation area within the KJA and KJT river
bodies, but at stations 1, 2 and 4 less feasible to be used as a cultivation area of
KJA and KJT due to factors environment that still not support. Types of fish
suitabled for cultivation like grouper (Epinephelus foscoguttatus), Asian Redtail
Catfis (Bagrus nemurus), White Snapper (Lates calcalifer), Fur Shells (Anadara
antiquata), Green Shellfish (Perna viridis), Mangrove Crab (Scylla sp) suitabled
for the type of muddy sand substrate and coral fragments.
