Findings/Recommendations: Slight contamination of stainless steel piping

Random visual inspection carried out on various spool pieces at contractor’s yard. The following was noted:

1) General appearance of welding is acceptable

2) Slight contamination (external) on elbow. Possible cause reasonably assumed as coming from grinding sparks

3) Slight contamination (internal) on weld. Possible cause not apparent, request contractor response?

The contractor is hereby requested to grind, pickle and passivate the areas and present for re-inspection once complete.
