The 2017 India Africa ICT Summit is conducted in NCR-India

New Delhi – India: The 2017 India Africa ICT Summit happened at Hotel Ramada Gurgaon Central in
NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION | REPUBLIC OF INDIA on 01-02 December this year. The theme of the summit is
‘Confronting ICT and Cyber Challenges, Developing India and Africa through ICT, Opportunities, Challenges and
way forward’. The summit has been organized by Innovation Society – India, Computer Society of India, Ministry
of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India, and Public Opinion International Uganda with a focus of
bringing together the Ministers in charge of ICT from all Governments in Africa, Executives Directors or Heads of
Government Information Communications Technology Agencies or Authorities from Africa Countries, Chief
Executive Officers (CEOs) of Major Telecommunication Companies such as Telephone Service Providers in Africa
Countries, Selected Heads of ICT Academic Institutions from Africa and CEOs of Major Internet Service Providers
in Africa countries.
The summit is graced by the participation from Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development
(Uganda), Local Government Finance Commission (Uganda), Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited
(Uegcl), Uganda Prisons Service, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Uganda), Public Service Commission
(Uganda), Hult International Business School (Boston, USA), Nambia University, International Association of
Research Scholars, Amity College-Florida (USA), SIF Tech Limited (South Sudan), Valtech Limited, Advantal
Technologies, Computer Society of India, Hughes Communications India Limited, Nirmal Integrated Consultancy
(India), Business Press (India),, and many others.
African Delegation is headed by Hon. Justice Ralph W. Ochan, PSC Chairperson, Justice of Masindi High Court
Circuit, Secretary to the Judiciary, Uganda. The delegate is welcomed and facilitated by Mr. Sanjay Mohpatra
(President-CSI), Prof. Ripu Ranjan Sinha (Director General-AADC), Prof. Deepak Jain (General Secretary –
Innovation Society), Prof. A. K. Khare (Chancellor-IEC University) and many other honorable people.
During the summit, Panel discussions held on different aspects of ICT, Cyber Challenges, HRD, Capacity Building,
Skill Development, Law and Enforcements, Governance Policies, Ecommerce, and many other. Representatives
from Africa and India mutually discussed about current and future Opportunities, Challenges, and Risks
pertaining to mutual development of Africa and India through Information and Communication Technologies.
India-Africa ICT Excellence Awards were recognized for exceptional contributions towards innovative
development and promotion to ICT in India, Africa, and other parts of the globe. India-Africa ICT Knowledge
Directory is also launched during the event.
Asia Africa Development Council (AADC) is formed during the event on the strong base of 17 Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by world leaders in
September 2015 at an historic UN Summit. Major objecitves of AADC were explored including promotion of
cooperation amongst all countries and people of Asia and Africa by focusing on among other, Tourism and
Investment, Trading between Africa and Asia, Cultural and Educational Exchange programs, democracy and Good
Governance, Human Rights, Responsible Investments in Africa and Asia, educational development, and People-to-
People relationships.
