Empowered learner: use technology to seek feedback that informs and improves their practice and to
demonstrate their learning in a variety of ways.

Selected Technology Tool:

☐ Socrative ☐ iRespond ☐ Quizlet ☐ Plickers ☒ Kahoot! ☐ Office365 Forms
☐ Other:

Technology that student will use to respond to questions/prompts:

☒ Computer ☐ Hand-held student response system (like iRespond) ☒ Phone ☒ Tablet (such as iPad)
☐ Other wireless device (such as iPod Touch)
Type of session:
☒ Teacher-Paced ☐ Student-Paced
Bloom’s Taxonomy Level(s):
☒ Remembering ☒ Understanding ☒ Applying ☐ Analyzing ☐ Evaluating ☐ Creating

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): In the Kahoot review, you can find that the questions have pictures.
This is to allow the students that struggle with reading to be able to still answer. The wording is very simple so
that all students can understand what is being asked also. The questions also switch to descriptions to see if
the student can be pushed and identify the names of the geography.

Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
The review will come after students have been taught and understand all aspects of the geography unit.
Before the review is given the class will go over the different geography formations so that all students are
warmed up to work individually.

Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☒ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☐ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☒ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Student Response and Assessment Tools
Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: Each student will have their own device. If a
student’s device is not working, the teacher will give them a device from the school. Each student will be
working individually. The teacher will allow all students to put the code in and will read each question to the
student before the timer begins.

Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):

☒ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?
The teacher will go over each of the questions afterwards to give immediate feedback so students do not
leave thinking inaccurate information.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
Since the Kahoot review is going to be used before a test, the teacher will go over each of the material and
will answer any questions the students have. The students will be able to discuss different topics that are still
confusing. As a class the students will answer how prepared they feel for the test. If students are still
struggling, the teacher will continue to go over more material.
How will the data be used?
Data will be collected about each of the students and where they stand. Immediate results are sent to the
teacher’s email which can be used for the whole class discussion after the activity. The results will only be
shared for the teacher to help guide how ready the students are for the test.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.

A personal goal that I have is being flexible and using immediate data to guide me what to teach next. This is a
great activity for students to participate but also will give me a guide of how much more I need to teach my
students.

Reflective Practice: Students seem to not enjoy a test that is pencil and paper. I believe that this activity and
review gives the students a new perspective on how test questions should not frighten them. The questions
are questions that they might have to take on paper the next, but the students will be comfortable after
having a fun review the day before.
