ISO 14000 Series Standard
 ISO 14000 is a series of environmental management
standards developed and published by the International
Organization for Standardization (ISO) for organisations.

 The ISO 14000 family of standards provides practical tools

for companies and organizations of all kinds looking to
manage their environmental responsibilities.

 The ISO 14000 standards are not designed to aid the

enforcement of environmental laws and do not regulate
the environmental activities of organizations. Adherence
to these standards is voluntary.
 ISO technical committee 207 (ISO/TC 207) -

organizational level environmental concerns have been addressed;
4) To promote the broader interests of the public as well as users of these
standards;
5) To be cost-effective, non-prescriptive and flexible so they are able to meet
the differing needs of organizations of any type or size, worldwide;
