Universal Design for Learning (UDL): For visually impaired students, a teacher could work with the student
to read the quiz or use a speech to text function on the computer. Students may work at their own pace so
students with other disabilities may take their time and the teacher could help as needed.

Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity. Students will go into small groups where they will be divided into math, science, and
reading for supplemental instruction. They will each spend 15 minutes in a center. During the math center,
the students will go to the computers to complete a Socrative addition quiz.

Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☒ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☐ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☒ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☒ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☒ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☒ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity: Students will take a quiz on Socrative to assess
their ability to complete the addition facts correctly and quickly.

Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):

☐ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☒ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Student Response and Assessment Tools
Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?
☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not? It is important for students to know what they missed to improve.

Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity? After students complete the Socrative quiz, they will
use a Quizlet set up by the teacher to review addition facts.

How will the data be used? The speed and level of accuracy with which each student is able to complete the
quiz will be assessed. It will be used to ascertain the classes grasp of addition facts and to determine where
some students may be struggling. The data will not be shared or used for a grade, but it will be used to guide
lesson progress.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. For this activity, I am trying to ascertain information
from a program that may intimidate the children so I am hoping to learn how to make addition facts more
engaging for the students.

Reflective Practice: I feel like the activities that I created could allow me to cater my lesson plans to the
students needs and potentially figure out where students are going wrong. To extend the lesson, students
could race against each other in a space race for a fun way to review the lesson.
