In PSWDO, they are very kind and caring with its guests, especially to us the students
who are temporarily working in their company. They welcome us with open arms and
confident that we can be a great asset for them, and of course them to us. They have provided
us with right experiences as to what is the feeling of a social worker in the office, and solely
gives us a background of their experiences about their life as they go on with their career.
II. What can you say about the Trainer/Coordinator assigned to you in the entire
duration of the immersion program?
Our assigned coordinators are very approachable, and easy to be with. They handle us
with both balance of a standard manner but at the same time, a warmth and nurturing
behaviour.
III. In what way did the company or trainer inspire you to pursue your desired career in
College?
I am inspired by them, not because of their salary, but because of its goals and objectives.
Their work in this field is not only for themselves, but most importantly they serve for the
people’s welfare. What’s special in this field is that, you are closely link to all the people. The
emotions and feelings that you are able to serve for others, is undescribable and unmeasurable.
IV. If there is any recommendation/message you have for the company or the trainer
what will it be?
What I can say is that, I hope they will continue to serve for the people and be an
inspiration to the future social workers, because their job, based on my own perception, is that,
compared to any other professions and works, this one covers a wider perspective that is
beneficial for the people who are living in this society.
General Cleaning- with our first entry to the office, we started cleaning and help the
employees arranged and organized the things to its respective places.
Orientation- in the afternoon, we have started the orientation, and also we introduced each of
ourselves, and we are also oriented as to who are the personnel in the organization and what
are their positions.
II. What specific task/s I encountered that I find difficult to accomplish? Why?
The task which I think were difficult, is when we are ask to help clean, and lift things
which are too heavy for my self, especially that I am not physically fit to undertake big and
heavy materials.
III. Which of the task/s I encountered that is/are taught in school and which are not?
The things which are new and I have learned in the company is that, of course the
papers and other specific things to do at work. It’s a completely different world, although we
already have a little background of what the job is really for, but its true nature were
completely different from the actual.
IV. What is my general insight of the day? How did it improve me as a person?
I’ve learned that, even if your at work, school, or at home, cleaning is really the most
basic work that is need to be done first, though this is simply a simple realization, this gives
me a clear insight that a simple work once is done by a person, will show its true personality
and attitude.
Paper Works/ Payroll- we have been asked to arrange and organize the papers such as the
payroll. It was not an easy task for we have to categorize the papers according to peoples age,
address, etc.
II. What specific task/s I encountered that I find difficult to accomplish? Why?
It was difficult for me to organize the papers well, since it has to be categorized
properly. That is why, I really need to be very observant and focus in arranging the papers
because a little mistake could confuse the entire work.
III. Which of the task/s I encountered that is/are taught in school and which are not?
Organizing the papers is of course taught in school, however, it was much a different
papers because it contains numerous numbers, names, etc. which is unlikely similar to school
papers.
IV. What is my general insight of the day? How did it improve me as a person?
I have learned how to be patient at working, since, once you are facing a lot papers, its
like a little bit way of losing your focus and your ability to do well, but once you learn to be
patient and try again until you finished it well, then that is also the time you have
accomplished your goal.
Orientation in the Field of Social Working- we were given ideas as to what are the roles and
responsibilities of a social worker.
II. What specific task/s I encountered that I find difficult to accomplish? Why?
As we have given a little background about the field, I began to realize if I have the
skills and faith in this work.
III. Which of the task/s I encountered that is/are taught in school and which are not?
Although we are given a little idea about the job of social work, the practical
application of the job is only taught here in the office.
IV. What is my general insight of the day? How did it improve me as a person?
With the discussion and orientation about the field it gives me a further lesson which
helps me to decide whether to pursue or not my dream job.
Paperworks- I organized and photocopied the papers which consists the payroll and other
papers that which are needed to be pass.
II. What specific task/s I encountered that I find difficult to accomplish? Why?
Photocopying/ Xerox, since although it may sound and look easy, it is however
consumes too much energy even while you are standing. For almost an hour of photocopying
was not an easy task.
III. Which of the task/s I encountered that is/are taught in school and which are not?
We are taught how to value the hardwork even at small things. This inspires me that,
even a simple task such as photocopying also needs hardworkship and patience. Unlimited
energy is also required in order to perform better and faster.
IV. What is my general insight of the day? How did it improve me as a person?
I. What are the things did I accomplish today? And what skills or tasks did I learn
today? (enumerate and write short description)

read it which gives me an insight about when, how, and what it is used for.

While working on the papers, I have encountered a little conflicts especially that part
where you have to read the names individually.

Naturally, the papers within this specific field was not taught at school.
IV. What is my general insight of the day? How did it improve me as a person?
To deal with paper works one must need to be still and strong, that he/ she may not be
weary when facing a lot of works.
I do help some paperworks and provide any assistance to whatever the other employees do
ask. For example; Computer assistance, Printing, MS Word and MS Excel guide in using, etc.
II. What specific task/s I encountered that I find difficult to accomplish? Why?
I have no any significant difficulties during this day since minor works are only asked from me
and those are simple things only.

Both are not taught in the school since using computer and other technicalities in using
computer and printing are already acquired by my ownself.

I have learned that our previous experiences do help us be more improved and developed
individual. By this task which I have done today, I believe will eventually be of great
contribution for my job in the future.

Payroll papers(Partially and Totallt Damage)- we have been asked to encode all the persons
that are listed on the paper according to their barangay’s and municipalities.

The difficult part is when I have to separate the persons that are belonged to the Partially
and Totally damage amount, and at the same time should be categoried and separated
according to their barangays and municipalities. I really had to be very careful in encoding so
that I may not repeat it again.
