Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

UDL is accommodated in this lesson by supplying pictures as well as giving the student the chance to listen to
the audio of the lesson. This also provides the opportunity for kids to participate outside of class as well as
work at their own pace to complete the activity.
Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
All of the questions asked in the quiz will be prior content knowledge learned this quiz will be taken at the
conclusion of the class, on the last lesson aimed towards the standard. This quiz will be meant as a
review/check for understanding before the test. I will introduce the activity by completing a review with the
students with some games and a PowerPoint then telling them we will be taking a quiz online to review for
the test.

Student Response and Assessment Tools
Materials needed for this lesson is some type of technology such as a Chromebook to be able to access the
quiz. The teacher will have a passive role they will simply post the quiz online and give the students the access
code. The student, after being instructed how, will take the quiz individually.

Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):

☒ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☒ True/False ☐ Yes/No

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

☒ Yes ☐ No
☒ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?
Following the quiz the results will be used as a review so the students will need to know which questions they
missed.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
After the activity the class will review the results with the teacher to prepare for the upcoming test.
How will the data be used?
The data collected from this activity will be the results of the quiz and it will be used by both the instructor
and the students to get instant feedback of the results. This feedback will be used to orchestrate a review of
the material as well as help the teacher target certain material in the review before the test next class.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.

For this activity everything is new for me I have never used Socrative or any other student response tool. I
think it is an awesome piece of technology that is engaging, fun and customizable. Tools like this allow for the
students to be engaged and work at their own pace as well as allow the teacher the option to view the results
of the quiz in the forms of charts and tables. I think this type of technology is amazing and has endless
opportunities in assessing students’ progress and overall feeling of the classroom.
Reflective Practice:
Overall I really enjoyed completing this lesson I find the use of technology to not only be innovative but to
also be beneficial to students learning. I could have used this technology in many different ways where as
other websites allow you to create more of a game atmosphere for the students while other can be used as
poles. For instance, it would have been fun to use a pole and see how students enjoyed the quiz and how
they felt about it. Overall this technology is great and I look forward to using it in my classroom in the future.
