1: Interview
Interviewee: Genevieve Taday-Rayos
REFLECTION
The interview was a good experience because I have learned important things, not only in
assessment but also the reality that happens inside a classroom. My interview with teacher
Genny gave me reasons why I should continue to pursue my future career, which is being a
teacher.
Teacher Gen and I talked about her experiences in teaching and her ways of assessing young
learners. I asked several questions. I realized something from her words, and that is “lahat
ng bata ay may kakayahang matuto,” because every child has different skills and different
ways to learn. As a future educator, I fully understand that it is important to know the
background of your students to motivate them to learn, to provide their needs and also

There can be other ways of assessing students. One of which is giving performance task on
students. By means of that; I realized that here, students could apply their knowledge in real
life situation. They are given the chance to use their skills by performing it. Also, students
But before that, I have learned that it is important to give rubrics for students. It is to ensure
the quality of their performance. It is also used to grade them according to what they have
Now that we are in the 21st Century, it is important for the students to apply the things that
they have learned, instead of just absorbing it. I think, performance based assessment is

Computing grades is not that easy. For the teachers, you should be patient in computing the
grades of your students because its result will be the reflection of the students’
performance. Also, it is quite challenging because you should ensure that the grades are
Of course, I already know the feeling of being tired and hopeful while computing the grades
but when it was already done, I felt happy and fulfilled. I understand that being a teacher is
not easy, it requires patience and passion. Patiently computing the grades and passionately
REFLECTION
I understand that teaching-learning activities became more meaningful and more relevant,
if all students are active in class, if all are participating and cooperating among their
classmates, if teacher makes her teaching more exciting by having it in meaningful activities.
The best approach to use in teaching is the student-centered. In this, each student is given
the opportunity to be part of the class. Teaching became more relevant if the teacher
teaches in all domains -- which are the cognitive, affective and psychomotor. But the most
important and significant domain in the teaching process of the teacher is that valuing
students’ character and attitude in dealing with their classmates and as well as the teacher.

Artifact No. 5: Checklist
REFLECTION
We all know how important the checklist is, especially to the teacher and students. Checklist
is a tool to improve the students’ performance. It is beneficial for the students in a way of
identifying what aspects they need to improve to have a better performance in class. For
the teacher, they could easily identify the needs of the students by just looking at the
students’ checklist. In other words, the checklist provides information about the students to
the teacher, but the teacher must provide a consistent and reliable reflection about the
students’ information.

In the reaction paper, I have chosen the article about the “Homework could have an Impact
on Kids Health”. In this, the issue about homework loads to children is tackled. The writer
stated some effects of homework loads to children, such as the breakdown of their physical
health; instead he said that homework loads has no direct effect towards the academic
The article reminds us that before giving homework to children, we must consider their age,
abilities and environment. This is to ensure the stability of the health of children and they
I realized that the writer was right in saying that homework loads has no effect in academic
performance of the children, instead it will bring them to sleep disruptions and poor health.
There can be many ways in assessing young learners. In lined with the 21 st century, instead
assessment. This will surely motivate young learners to learn, explore and discover.

In lined with the 21st Century, media has become a trend in education but also, media
literacy has been a big issue in Early Childhood Education. Some experts say that the

When doing the position paper, I was challenged to make my own perspective about the
issue about media literacy on Early Childhood Education. Media, today, is the fastest way of
sharing information. I have made up to the decision of agreeing that media literacy is
important in Early Childhood Education knowing that we are now in the 21st Century where
But we have to consider the negative effects of media, most especially the spreading of fake
news. So, teachers should provide children the reliable sources to prevent unreliable
information.
