Heavy Wet Snow Tonight & Saturday

Key Points
Hazards: Heavy snow, sleet, wind gusts to 35 MPH, reduced visibilities, drifting
snow.

Areas Impacted: Mainly along and north of Interstate 80.

Timing & Duration: Accumulating snow from late this evening through early
afternoon Saturday. Heaviest snow to fall during mid to late Saturday AM.

Impacts: Dangerous travel conditions. Sporadic power outages possible if wet

snow and strong winds can bring down branches.

Certainty & Considerations: Confidence High on occurrence of heavy snow,

Low on exact placement.

This snow is expected to be wet and heavy and lead to shoveling difficulty.

The line between a lot of snow and little/no snow will be very distinct.

Differences in model placement of snow bands mean the axis of heaviest snow
may not become clear until shortly before onset.
