Environmental pollution has become one of the
greatest threats to mankind.
Environmental disasters are more frequent with
increasingly serious consequences.
Environmental pollution does not respect national
boundaries: transnational action is required.
Ultimately, laws will ensure that companies who
pollute are the ones paying the costs of preventing or
repairing damage to the environment.
