ABSTRACT

In partial fulfillment of Anna University course, master of structural

engineering, inplant training, we have attended the inplant training in Madurai, from
16/6/17 to 22/7/17. The purpose of the study is to observe drawing and prepare the
design and estimation of the residential building, also we analyze the structural stability
using STAAD pro software.

During this training period my contribution was to calculate the quantity of

construction material. The proposed construction of individual building had been built
on 994 Sq.ft. The safe bearing capacity of soil is 300kN/m2.

The building was designed based on limit state method and the soil found to be
dense soil, so pile foundation was adopted. The concrete mix used for slabs, beams and
columns are of M20 (Design Mix). The steel used for all the members are HYSD (high
yield strength deformed) bars of grade Fe 500.
