Q.1 Show that two reversible adiabatic paths cannot intersect each other.

Q.3 What are the conditions to be satisfied for a process or cycle to be reversible? Give examples
of both reversible and irreversible processes.
Q.4 Define Heat engine, Refrigerator, and Heat pump. Draw neat figures and find out their index
of performance.
Q.5 Explain Carnot cycle and Carnot heat engine. Find out the efficiency of Carnot cycle and
analyze the result.
Q.6 What are the practical difficulties of Carnot cycle? Explain.
Q.7 Prove that entropy is a property of the system. Also what do you understand by the Entropy
principle?
Q.8 Write short note on:
(i) Carnot theorem (iii) High and low grade energy
(ii) Clausius Inequality (iv) Type of irreversibility’s
