Communications: Pensacola State College provides an institutional email account to all credit
students. Pirate Mail is the official method of communication, and students must use Pirate Mail
when communicating with the College.
Online Course: This is a fully online class. Canvas and ConnectMath will both be used and
should be checked for news and updates at least once per week. Please see the following two
links to get a good idea of what is expected for online courses at Pensacola State:

http://elearning.pensacolastate.edu/tips-for-elearners/. Expect to devote 5-8 hours each week to
this class.
Canvas: Canvas will be used for class announcements, information, tests, and grade
posting. It is essential that you check the weekly modules on Canvas regularly for
information pertaining to the course.
ConnectMath: ConnectMath will be used for lectures, homework, and chapter quizzes.
The website to register for ConnectMath is www.connectmath.com. To sign up, click on
the “Sign up now!” link under “New User”.
Primary Learning Resources: Students are expected to use the following three resources every
week when completing material (in this order): reading the textbook, listening to ConnectMath
lectures, and completing homework in full (for a grade). If these resources are not enough,
students may make use of the Tutoring Center at Pensacola State College or the Virtual Tutoring
Center. You may also schedule Virtual Office Hours with your instructor for help with specific
problems or concepts.
Tutoring: Pensacola State College offers free tutoring to all math students in the Math Lab.
Online tutoring is also available. See Canvas for more information.

B. Final Exam
Final examinations are administered during the final examination week at the end of
each term, at the dates and times published on the Pensacola State College website. It
is each student’s responsibility to know when and where final examinations are
scheduled and to be present and on time with all required materials. ALL students
must take a final to receive a grade in the course, NO exemptions. NO early exams are
allowed. (PSC Catalog p. 46)
C. Academic Integrity
It is the responsibility of the student to adhere to the polices on p. 18-21 of the student
handbook.
All assignments are due on Saturday at 11:59PM of each respective week unless otherwise
indicated. Late work will only be accepted if 1) the reason is considered excused according to
Pensacola State policy (http://pensacolastate.smartcatalogiq.com/en/2016-
2017/Catalog/Admissions-Regulations-Financial-Aid-and-Graduation/Academic-Regulations-
and-Policies/Attendance-Policies/Clock-Hour-Attendance-Policies), AND 2) at least 24 hours
notice is given. To avoid missing assignments due to last minute emergencies, complete the
assignments earlier in the week. Expect to devote 5-8 hours each week to this class.
