1. Safety
This manual has been worked out for the Weighing Bridge 180 0

!•.'

IMPORTANT

Persons who either have to operate, clean, grease, maintain, repair or who in any other way
are getting in contact with the machine, must read this manual and must follow the safety
precautions and instructions carefully, otherwise serious personal iniuries.may occur.

RepJace signs immediately if they become iIIegible.

Never work alone under dangerous working conditions.

Persons, who are staying close to the machine should not be wearing loose clothes or any
loose objects that could get entangled in the machine. Long hair should be put up and
fastened with a hair net, a cap or the like. Loose sleeves should be rolled up to over the
elbows.

Never put your fingers into the machine while in operation. If something gets stuck or caught
in the machine, switch off the machine or the driving mechanism. Make sure that unautho-
rized persons cannot re-start the machine. Only then may the object be removed.

Repair and maintenance of vital parts should onlybe made by authorized persons.

By repair - always turn off the main switch of the machine and lock it in the "oñ" position or
remove fuses and put up a sign with the text: "Do not start machine - under repair".

If an adjustment requires that the machine is running, make sure that the person or persons
concerned understand the risk. The utmost care has to be taken when performing the
adjustment.

The machine contains synthetics which can emit toxic vapours in case of tire.

The overhead conveyor must be equipped with an emergency stop switch which is placed in
immediate vicinity ot the machine ? .

Check the emergency" stop switch daily!

Always use original L1NCO spare parts and fittings. If the original L1NCO spare parts
are not used, the machine guarantee and L1NCO's obligations will lapse.

LlNCO disclairn all responsibility if the machine is used for any other purpose than the one
for which it was designed, see section 2.1 Application.

2. System Description

2.1. Appllcatlon
'.'
The machine is applied for automatic weighing of chickens-that are hanging in weighing shackles.
The machine is produced in different sizes depending on capacity demand and with a shackle
distance of 8" or 10".

2.2. Construction
The machine consists mainly ot:
A frame (1) made of 80 x 80 square pipe.
A 50 mm main shaft (2) with a stationary cam disc (3) in synthetics. A top plate (4) and a bottom
plate (5) in aluminium are embedded on the upper and lower side of the cam disco A number of
vertical guide units are mounted between the top plate and the bottom plate. Each guide unit
consists of 2 slide bars (6) and 1 slide block (7). The movements of the slide block (7) are
controlled by means of 2 springs (8) and a stainless steel ball bearing (9) which are mounted on
the back of the slide block.
A weighing parallelogram (10), a shackle holder (11) and a support plate (12) are mounted on the
slide block (7). A weighing unit consisting of a weighing cell (13) a suspension console (14), lnlet
and outlet plates (15) and a weighing plate (16) is mounted on the rnaln shaft.
A guide rail (17) ensurínq that the shackle holder (11) catches the weighing shackles, is mounted
on top of the trame.
The movable parts of the machineare driven by a drive wheel (18) which is mounted on the under
side of the upper cross beam.
An adjusting bolt (19) for height adjustment of the main shaft is fitted under the main shaft.

2.3. Function
The chicken hanging in the weighing shackle by either one leg or by both legs is conveyed into the
machine (the bent part of the weighing shackle must always hang out of the machine). The shackle
holder (11) catches the weighing shackle and the slide block (7), Iifts the weighing shackles free
from the suspension shackle. Then the pressure wheel of the weighing parallelogram (20) enters
onto the ínlet plate (15) and then onto the weighing plate (16) where the weighing cell (13) registers
the weight. After weighing the pressure wheel (20) goes out on the outlet plate (15), and the slide
block (7) is lowered so that the weighing shackle can leave the machine freely.

4. Installation

4.1. Mounting
!oc'

In order to avoid dangerous situations the area around the'machine must be designed and
arranged in such a way as to avoid fall, slip, skid, electric chocks and the like.
Make sure that there is enough space around the system for working and passage.
The direction of the machine is decided by the layout of the plant.
Fasten the machine to the ceiling andlor to the floor.

4.2. Connection

5. Adjustment
5.1. Mechanics

Place the weighing shackle of the trolley so that it is just opposite a guide unit on the machine.
Fine adjust, if necessary, on top of the drive wheel.
Height adjust the main shaft of the machine by means of the adjusting bolt which is mounted on
the lower cross beam. Adjust the machine so that the leg loop is Iifted 25-30 mm free from the
suspension shackle. ,
When the pressure wheel (20) is at the middle of the weighing plate (16), the weighing unit has
maximum load. Check clearance, 1 mm, between horizontal weighing arm (21) and height stop
(22). Adjust, if necessary, by loosening the bolt at the height stop (22) and by pushing the height
stop (22) up/down. Re-tighten the bolt.
The pressure wheels (20) are closed bearings with 2RS sealings. Oismount the rubber sealings
(\. when installing the machine. Clean the bearings for fat, by compressed air for example.
, --:-'.-

DO NOT CLEANBEARINGS WITH WATER

Apply a thin coat of oí! to the bearings every day before starting up.
It is recornmended to clean the bearings with compressed air once a month.

6.3. Cleaning
Do not start the machine during cleaning.

Do not use detergents that corrode aluminium.

~...

Daily cleaning and disinfection

Cleaning:
Rinse off all loose dirt. Apply to all suriaces an alkaline detergent pH 12 approx. Time of contact 10
- 15 minutes. Rinse with 60°C hot water.

Max. 60 bar, if a high pressure cleaner is used.

Disinfection:
Use chloric disinfectant 200 ppm free chlorine.
Rinse with cold water after 10 - 15 minutes.

2 - 3 times/day:
Rinse with cold water all suriaces of the machine that are in contact with the birds. Apply by
atomization a chloric disinfectant, 200 ppm free chlorine.

Weekly recommended cleaning and disinfection:

Cleaning:
Once a week after the daily cleaning with an alkaline detergent (before disinfection) it is recom-
mended to clean with an acid detergent pH 1,5 approx. to remove calcareous deposits. Time of
contact 10 - 15 minutes approx. Sluice carefully with 60°C hot water. Make sure that all the acid
detergent is removed. Be extra careful with zinc coated suriaces.

Disinfection:
Use a disinfectant with hydrogen peroxide pH 1,5 approx. Time of contact 10 - 15 minutes approx.
Rinse with cold water.
It is recommended to apply a thin coat of food approved oil to all suriaces.

IMPORTANT! When cleaning with an acid detergent do not use chlorine at the following disinfec-
tion, as acid and chlorine will produce toxic hydrogen chlorides.

NB. Do not use high pressure water on the machine.
