It’s difficult to be polite on rush hour trains in Tokyo. Millions of passengers use the underground every day. There
are a lot of people on the platforms and when you get on the train, it’s almost impossible to move or read. “It’s
sometimes very difficult to breathe,” some people say.
However, Japanese society is very polite. There are posters to ask passengers not to use mobile phones or carry a bag
on their back because it can annoy people. Another good thing is that people often offer to move seats so that two
friends can sit together. Other passengers use the journey to sleep. The trains are fast and punctual and the stations are
safe and clean. Train staff enjoy their work. That is not very common.
There are many good things about trains in Tokyo and passengers love the clean and safe environment. However,
they hate the crowded rush hour trains.
