Statement of Purpose

I am glad to share about me and my future plans with you. I have included all
of my details about my life, studies, career, and objectives within this letter of
statement of purpose for the Bachelor of Information Technology (networking
and cybersecurity) at university of South Australia, Adelaide, South Australia.
Introduction:
Introducing myself, I am Nabin Kandel son of Mr. Devi Ram Kandel and Mrs.
Bimala Sapkota, a permanent resident of Khairahani-06 chitwan, Nepal. I was
born in the year 1997 Nov. 30. My family comprises of my grandparents,
father, mother a younger sister and myself. It is not only my dream and
passion to gain international degree; my entire family is encouraging me and
supporting me.
My parents as well as my grandparents are sponsoring all my fees and living
expenses during my stay in Australia. My family is economically and mentally
prepared to send me Australia for my higher studies. My father is a Chef in one
of the renowned hotel i.e. Marriott Marquis Doha and my grandfather is a
retired pensioner of Kerala State Electricity Board as security guard. My family
has always been so supportive when my education is concerned and my family
is well prepared for sponsoring me. The income and savings of my guardians
will help me to study in Australia with no pressure.
Academic details:
I have completed my schooling from International English Model School,
Khairahani-06, Chitwan Nepal in the year 2014 securing 68.63%. Later I joined
Aroma English Higher Secondary School, Bharatpur-10 Chitwan and passed +2
exam obtaining 59.10% in aggregate having science as my faculty along with
Computer Science in the year 2016. One thing I always feel good about myself
is that I have always been recognized as a sincere and obedient students in
both of my School and college.
After completion of my 10+2, I felt that I haven’t learned enough practical skills
and competency in Computer field. So in order to full fill this gap and also to
make my further education smooth, I joined Diploma in Computer Engineering
Course at ICT Banking Training Institute, Nawalparasi, Nepal. Along with that, I
also joined IELTS preparation classes from July 2016 in approach of studying
abroad. On September 10th, 2016, I took the IELTS test and achieved overall
band score of 6.0 (Listening- 7, Reading-5.5,Writing- 6 & Speaking-6).
Reasons for choosing to study in Australia rather than in my home town or
other countries:
I choose Australia for my higher education because it is on the top level as a
provider of quality education along with the safe learning environment. Similar
kinds of courses are also available in Nepal but due to lack of facilities and
modern tools and resources required for the study, I have decided to study in
Australia. Nepal has old theoretical method of teaching. The degree achieved
from Nepal is not accepted worldwide, so there is low chance of getting good
job.
Australia is an English speaking country and has strong international reputation
for educational excellence. Likewise, students from overseas get excellent job
opportunities and high quality student supports. Also the friendly
environment, high standard of living, practical education system along with the
job opportunities in related field have been magnetic factors for thousands of
students all over the world. Students do not just clear the exams and get good
grades, but students actually learn through critical analysis method of learning
rather than rote learning. Availability of practical education in affordable fee
encouraged me to make Australia as my destination for further study which
lacks in my own home town and comparatively in other countries too.In
addition, institutes and universities in Australia offer variety of up to date
courses and degrees so foreign students like me can find appropriate course
for them and can step up towards the bright future.
And in context of other nations like UK and USA, I found that Australia is the
best destination for me. In Australia there is ESOS act which deals about the
rights of international students and also has Tuition Protection Scheme (TPS)
which means fee is safe and secured but those acts lack in UK & USA. In USA
bachelor degree is of 4 years rather in Australia courses are often shorter than
alternatives in other countries, particularly in the USA. Comparing UK & USA
the currency value is really high. Australian currency is a lot more economic for
international students. Crime rate is very low in Australia than others.
Hence, having best universities of the world and respect for both male and
female in all fields along with affordable fees motivates the students to make
their higher education in Australia as I do.
Reason for choosing my education provider as University of south Australia :
After a lot of research, brainstorming and web exercise, I shortlisted the
Universities/colleges like Edith Cowan University, University of southern
Queensland, Flinders University and University of south Australia and at the
end I selected University of south Australia. It’s an internationally recognized
education institute. It has great atmosphere with lots of student’s activities
and events for the students and the multi-cultural environment will never let
me feel alone.
It is known for its excellence for teaching quality, modern facilities and
academic leadership. Quality teaching, quality education, excellent support for
students, helpful and friendly staff and industry connections are the major
attractions of University of South Australia. In University of South Australia, I
will learn through exposure to the real working world, and from the very latest
in research developments and technologies with small class sizes, so that
students enjoy learning process and don’t get lost in the crowd.
And also I found my course that I want to study in this college which is
Information Technology (networking and cybersecurity). This program is
professionally accredited by the Australian computer society. With more than
200 industry partners, they offer opportunities to students to get real-world
experience through projects and placements. They provide real world skills
needed for Information Technology, modern tools and equipments needed for
the practical and research which is fully affordable for me.

Reason for choosing Bachelor of Information Technology (Networking and

Cybersecurity)
From my school days, I have keen interest in the field of computer and its
working system. I have attended computer science class in my primary as well
as in secondary level. Computer has always became a friend of mine since my
childhood days. Though I started using computers just for gaming but day by
day computer has become the subject of my interest. Lack of IT experts and
slow growth of information technology sector in Nepal has always motivated
me to do something in this field. So I chose my career in the Information
Technology (networking and cybersecurity) and I strongly believe that growth
of information technology is essential for the development of Nepal.
After completion of the course:
Everyone wants to be the specialist in their respective field of study and work.
In the same way I am planning to get well trained and become the renowned IT
specialist. After my graduation I will have good knowledge at my chosen study
path and also I will do PSW(post study work) which will further enhance my
knowledge level in the practical field. I will also get real working experience
with international employer and working practice, by which I can improve my
competitiveness for my future. Today the need of IT specialists has increased in
banks, government agencies, public schools, small business and many more.
And IT professionals with International Degree can easily get Jobs in some of
the major corporation of Nepal like NCELL, Nepal Telecom (NTC), Merchantile,
Nabil Bank, Himalayan bank, Nepal Rastra bank etc. with an attractive salary.

Reason to return Nepal:

As Nepal is a developing country, Information Technology beholds greater
future here. But there is lack of skilled manpower with sufficient knowledge
and experience in this particular field. After my graduation I will definitely
return back to my motherland and start serving it. I will also help my nation to
uplift in IT sector by the knowledge and experience I get in Australia. I can also
work as a network administrator or network engineer to get the real time
experience in the reputed IT companies in Nepal like: Nepal Telecom, NCELL,
Brain Digit IT, Deerwalk services, SUBISU, Worldlink etc with good salary.
As I am the only son of my parents, I am fully responsible towards them. I have
to take care of them and their property here in Nepal. So, I will definitely
return to my home country.
Well having mentioned about Australia and University of South Australia as my
destination, course and career plans, I hear by would like to assure that I am a
genius student fully concentrated to achieve a goal which I dream to be and
also I am physically, mentally, emotionally and financially fit enough to study in
your institution. When it comes to the expenses and fees, my family has
managed enough funds and resources to support my study and living expenses
till the duration of my study. I also promise to be bound with the entire laws
and order of your great nation, follow all the rules and regulations of your
organization.
Visa Conditions under Student Visa (Subclass-500):
I am fully aware of the VISA obligation which says that I must be accepted as a
full time student by the university and must maintain 80% of the total
attendance, meet health requirement must have Overseas Student Health
Cover (OSHC), I must notify the university about my address within 7 days of
the arrival to Australia and University should be notified of any changed
address within 7 days. I must study in the university for the first six months of
the commencement of my program and most abide by the Australian law and
rules set by the university.
